Clark and Kerry locked in a statistical tie in AZ
Demo chairman sees race turn to 'a donnybrook'
By C.J. Karamargin
ARIZONA DAILY STAR

Sen. John Kerry continued his rise in popularity among Arizonans planning to vote in today's primary but is locked in a statistical tie for first place with retired Gen. Wesley Clark.

The Massachusetts lawmaker now has the support of 34 percent of "certain" voters surveyed over the weekend in the latest Eyewitness News 4/Arizona Daily Star poll.

Clark has 28 percent and Howard Dean 18 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 5 percent.

"I see this turning into a donnybrook between Clark and Kerry," said Paul Eckerstrom, chairman of the Pima County Democratic Party. "Kerry is not running away with it. Clark still has a shot."

10. Primaries are fun like playoffs are fun
You think you'll have the time of your life when your team gets in.

Instead you are a nervous wreck.

The only time you feel good is after a win, and then soon start worrying about the next round...

But I'll take it any day, over sitting it out!

Go Clark!

11. What a wonderful concept, the nominee being decided by the people
and not herd mentality and manipulated big media polls taken after two small states voted.

I am not just rooting for Clark in Arizona, I am rooting that our nominee isn't decided by two small lilly white states that voted in January. That's just bullshit.

9. My parents are voting for Clark on Tuesday
Clark had a ground organization in Arizona before Kerry did, he has been on the air for longer, so he might be able to eek out a win if his supporters are more motivated than the Kerry voters.

15. mine too
my mom is calling her republican friends who didnt change their registration and asking them to go to the republican primary and write in a democrat... tell them that it doesnt matter if they write in Clark or Dean or Sharpton - just send the message to W that he's unwelcome.

I'm pretty sure shes making those calls this morning :)
