CBS poll shows improvement in Bush's numbers!
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 09:34 AM by harlinchi
http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm

On this site which tracks various polls by date, the CBS poll data shows an increase in the percentage of people who approve of Bush's job performance. If this poll were anywhere near accurate, wouldn't these folk be shouting about the increase from every Fox News-like mountaintop? Doesn't the fact that it is not being discussed indicate a probable level of fraudulent activity with respect to the poll itself?

In the chart, the CBS poll from Mar. 9 through Mar. 12, 2006 showed Bush with a 34% approval rate; as of the April 6 through April 9, 2006 poll his number allegedly rose to 37%. I call BS on the April numbers.

2. What's the margin of error? It's usually 3-4%, which could easily explain
the "improvement." Considering the MOE, it could show just that there's been no change at all.

3. Not necessarily

A 3% change up or down is the same as the margin of error. Doesn't mean there's a significant change in Bush's approval, and I would venture to say it's static at this point.

Edit: Whoa ocelot! Get outta my head! :hi:

6. I know it's within the margin. I guess my BS meter has been...
...made oversensitive by this administration! It sure looks odd, though.

4. 37% is a horrible, horrible number
If the Bush Admin needs to latch on to that 3% difference and claim 'improvement' then they are even more pathetic that I thought. (And it is within the MOE.)

15. Ehh. That 35% is people who would vote Repub. no matter what
I'm sure there's an equivalent percentage for those who vote across the board Dem regardless of circumstances as well.

5. Margin of error I think
I change of 2 or 3 percentage points is statistically meaningless no matter how much people try to make it into something. I am surprised that the faux losers don't try to spin the hell out of it though. I'm sure some nutjob talk radio loser will mention it before the day is out.

11. Maybe he's getting support from doctrinaire contrarians.
When they hear that his approval level is at a record low, they might take that as a signal for them to give their approval.

16. Any bump in a poll that could stand scrutiny would have been...
...the story of the day. I sincerely believe skewed numbers were used. There was some disagreement in their poll numbers regarding the numbers of democratic respondents used versus the number of republicans.

I still call BS!

19. so basically his numbers have stopped dropping!
when taking the margin of error into consideration, a third of the voters would vote for Bush..even if they saw Bush personally fly a plane into the Statue of Liberty. Some people will never be convinced, the people who voted against Roosevelt in the 30's and 40's..would have done so even if Republicans had nominated Hitler in 1940.

This doesn't mean we can't win those who are now feeling betrayed!

20. I'm sure our chances are good in Nov 2006. I just dislike the games...
...played by pollsters. I don't like they varying population splits, i.e., the varying percentages of democrats versus republicans and independents used by the same polling group in subsequent polls.
