O.K., I'm making the Call! This bomb Iran thing's a Bush/Iran plot to...
...drive up Oil prices for the short term profits for Iran, the Bush Family and their Oil Industry buddies benefit. :hi:

If you don't see the connection, read this new News article from AFP:

Oil prices surge near 69 dollars on possible US-Iran military conflict

11/04/2006 05h02

SINGAPORE (AFP) - Oil prices surged to within touching distance of 69 dollars in Asian trading on concerns of a possible US military strike against Iran, dealers said. At 11:10 am (0310 GMT), New York's main contract, light sweet crude for May delivery was at 68.91 dollars a barrel, up 17 cents from its close of 68.74 dollars in the United States Monday.

Dealers said the market ignored efforts by President George W. Bush to dismiss as "wild speculation" weekend reports that Washington was studying options for military strikes against Iran's uranium facilities. "Obviously some market participants are reacting to it and so this morning the market continues to be bullish about it," said Victor Shum, an analyst in Singapore with global energy consultancy Purvin and Gertz.

The Washington Post and the New Yorker magazine reported over the weekend that the White House was exploring military options against Tehran which had vowed not to back down over its controversial nuclear programme. Washington and its allies believe Iran is secretly trying to build a nuclear bomb, but the US administration went out of its way Monday to play down the reports.

"The doctrine of prevention is to work together to prevent the Iranians from having a nuclear weapon," Bush said. Iran, the world's fourth-biggest oil producer with an output of four million barrels per day, insists its nuclear programme is for civilian energy purposes.

It sounds crazy, I know, but no more crazy than Bush and Rummy considering using Nu-Killer weapons to stop Iran from getting Nu-Killer weapons which, if they were dumb enough to do this, and it didn't result in at least a limited nuclear war, it would probably contaminate most of the Oil in the Middle-east.

I wonder if they've studied the things like that that could go wrong if they used these "tactical Nukes" that they are talking about.

OR, maybe it would set off a chain reaction ignition of the middle-east oil fields? Who knows?

But anyway, in 3 years, when the truth finally comes out that these "Bomb Iran" rumors were just a ploy to drive up Oil prices, remember, I Called It FIRST!

1. Hope your right.
But I think these morons are vicious enough and stupid enough to start a war with Iran--and no I don't think they've studied the things that could go wrong if they used tactical nukes.

2. It doesn't sound crazy. That sort of thing happens when a government
becomes a virtual subsidiary of huge corporations. Still, I think this business with Iran may be very serious. And this administration is quite malignant enough to nuke Iran (or for that matter, California).

3. I have trouble believing that Seymour Hersh would be party to this ploy
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 02:51 AM by Douglas Carpenter
Of course he could have been duped. But, he has a very long and distinguished journalistic history of checking his sources and usually being right.

And you don't seriously believe that the Iranian Ayatollahs are as greedy, deceitful and shortsighted as Bush and the neocons do you?

5. No, but the President of Iran, Ahmadinejad might be.
I recently heard a very good, straight forward report on him, where his Iranian political critics spoke to the reporter about the techniques he uses to frighten and persuade the "common folk" in Iran, and it sounds like he is using the exact same techniques on his "base" as Bush does. He and Bush are virtual twins as far as their politics go.

If you want to understand what I'm talking about, listen to this report from NPR: <http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5204387>

But substitute the name George Bush for Ahmadinejad and the words Christian for Muslim in all the things he says and what his critics say about him is this report, and swap the anti-Israeli and anti-Christian stuff in his speeches for all the anti-arab and anti-non-christian stuff in Bush's speeches, and you'll see what I mean.

Here's a post about this I did back in February: <http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Up2Late/25>

And here's his website:
<http://www.president.ir/eng/>

BTW, none of this is meant as a criticisms of Seymour Hersh, or the work that he's done.
