Kerry races ahead of Dean in Michigan poll
A new poll shows John Kerry with a double-digit lead over Howard Dean in Michigan, a state Dean has been counting on to revive his Democratic presidential campaign.

After unexpected losses in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, Dean has all but written off Tuesday's seven nominating contests across the South and Midwest in order to focus on winning Saturday's caucuses here and in Washington state. "Michigan is a really important state for us," Dean said Monday on WJR-AM, a news-talk radio station here.

That's why TheDetroit News/Mitchell poll represents such grim news for the former Vermont governor. Dean had a 16-percentage point lead over his nearest Democratic competitor here a month ago. "He has sunk like a rock," said Steve Mitchell, who sampled 300 likely Democratic caucus voters for the poll published in Tuesday's News.

The poll underscores Kerry's momentum as the competition expands to states across the country. Kerry is expected to be the big winner in Tuesday's voting, with North Carolina Sen. John Edwards and retired Army general Wesley Clark hoping to come away with at least one victory apiece.

1. Listen here. Winning is not important. Passion is.
So what if no one votes for Dean.

He has a fire in his belly!!

5. Your candidate better beat Bush.
I currently despise him, but for the best of our country we cant have bush. Kerry's inevitability is the only thing that seems to keep people voting for him. The media says it's his message but I would disagree. Anyhow, the only point is your candidate better Beat bush.... cause currently I think hes going to sink faster than a rock in water.

6. Are you going to work for it?
Or are you going to sit on the left and make us have to fight two fronts again?

8. I will not support Kerry...

Kerry would not fight for me when it counted.... instead he sat back and let Dean and Clark take all the heat.

Only now does Kerry step up to try and benefit from the hard work of others... just like he has always done.

If Kerry get the nomination, I will write in Dean. My vote goes to the one who earned it... and that's not Kerry.

14. "write in"? You're crossing your fingers that the Supreme Court will rule

favorably on the issues that you care about. If Bush gets back in, expect a right wing court to decide cases for the next 30 years.

7. Admittedly, my post is tinged with envy
but I do find it a little disturbing Kerry is having such an easy time of winning these primaries.

9. Kerry has it easy?
Kerry, who had his campaign written off for dead less than three weeks ago, worked tirelessly to gain the votes. Remember how he was surging in Iowa in the polls? He was not sleeping, not eating, just working and pounding the pavement. I'd hardly call that "easy", and now he is reaping the benefits which everyone thought would go to Dean.

When you meet John Kerry face to face, ask him how "Easy" this campaign has been and I'm sure he'll get a good chuckle.

12. Theresa, too
And then she gets accused of not being peppy enough at the victory speeches and John finally gets some sleep for a few days and all of the sudden it's botox, botox, botox.

13. Ah jesus christ, sorry for saying anything
I meant EASY as in fucking getting 40+% in all the primaries... that isn't just easy, that is fucking riding on a cloud.

AND I even went to the effort to acknowledge that I wouldn't have said anything if it was MY guy. Jump down a guy's throat why don't you.

15. Don't get too upset
if that surge in the polls disappears....

As quickly as it came about, it can dry up....

If Edwards comes away today as a viable alternative, those same "informed" voters may just as easily switch to him....

especially if they get a chance to hear the two speak...

16. Don't forget the absentee and Internet voting
People have been voting since January 3 in MI, which is well before the bottom fell out of Dean's campaign. He will probably do better than the current polls indicate.
