I Want To DJ Tom DeLay's "Retirement" Bash...
Elvis has left the building, but his spirit lives on in the halls of Capitol Hill where scores of nervous Republicans contemplate their party's future. Like a thoughtful little stoner, I thought I'd focus on what songs I'd play for our boy if I were so lucky to DJ his going-out party. Oh...and I can't use "Folsom Prison Blues". I already played that at Jack's party:

Any requests?

"We're strangers, so
What do I care?
You vanished today
Not the first time I hear
All the lies...

What am I to do with all this silence?

Shy away, shy away phantom
Run away, terrified child
Won't you move away,
Fuck this tornado...

I'm better off without you
Tearing my will down...."

"A Stranger", A Perfect Circle, 2003.

"I got the rap patrol on the gat patrol,
Foes that wanna make sure my casket's closed
Rap critics that say he's "Money/Cash/ Hoes"
I'm from the hood stupid what type of facts are those
If you grew up with holes in your zapitos
You'd celebrate the minute you was havin' dough...
If your havin' girl problems , I feel bad for you, son
I got 99 problems but the bitch ain't one...."

Jay-Z, "99 Problems", 2003.

  :bounce: :toast:

1. I've got the perfect song, Mr. DJ...
"Money" by Velvet Revolver (Get a load of these lyrics...perfect for Tom!)

Money, get away
get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
money, it's a gas
grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
new car, caviar, four star daydream
think I'll buy me a football team
Money, get back
I'm alright, Jack, keep your hands off my stack
money, it's a hit
don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
and I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime
share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie
money, so they say
is the root of all evil today
but if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away, away, away

3. Ok, one more song...
Rich Girl, by Hall and Oats, 1977.

Ok...What I wouldn't give--to get all liquored up and karoke this song to Tommy Boy DeLay!

You’re a rich girl, and you’ve gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
You can rely on the old man’s money
You can rely on the old man’s money
I t’s a bitch girl but it’s gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
Say money but it won’t get you too far,
Get you too far

And don’t you know, don’t you know
That it’s wrong to take what is given you
So far gone, on your own
You can get along if you try to be strong
But you’ll never be strong

’cause
You’re a rich girl, and you’ve gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
You can rely on the old man’s money
You can rely on the old man’s money
It’s a bitch girl and it’s gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
Say money but it won’t get you too far,
Get you too far

High and dry, out of the rain
It’s so easy to hurt others when you can’t feel pain
And don’t you know that a love can’t grow
’cause there’s too much to give, ’cause you’d rather live
For the thrill of it all, oh

You’re a rich girl, and you’ve gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
You can rely on the old man’s money
You can rely on the old man’s money
It’s a bitch girl and it’s gone too far
’cause you know it don’t matter anyway
Say money but it won’t get you too far,
Say money but it won’t get you too far,
Say money but it won’t get you too far,
Get you too far

2. Sex pistols
Liar!

(From the album "NEVER MIND. THE BOLLOCKS ...")

Lie lie lie lie liar you lie
lie lie lie lie tell me why tell me why
Why d'you have to lie
should've realised that
you should've told the truth
should've realised
you know what I'll do

You're in suspension
you're a liar

How I wanna know know know know
I wanna know why you never look me
in the face
Broke a confidence just to please
your ego
Should've realised
you know what I know

You're in suspension
you're a liar

I know where you go everybody you know
I know everything that you do or say
So when you tell lies
I'll always be in your way
I'm nobody's fool
and I know all 'cos I know
what I know

you're in suspension
you're a liar you're a liar you're a liar
A lie lie lie lie lie lie lie lie lie

Lie lie lie lie
Liar you lie lie lie lie lie
I think you're funny
you're funny ha ha

I don't need it don't need your blah blah
should've realised
I know what you are

you're in suspension
you're a liar you're a liar
you're a lie
