in which she basically said "go kidnappers!" and an interview in which she all but said they were good and decent people. (not a quote, just a summary opinion)

Freepers (broadly speaking) and many DUers couldn't reconcile this with the terrified-Carroll video that was released a couple of months ago, or that she watched her translator gunned down by the good and decent people. They waited to see what else came out, and were fairly quiet. Many said they could draw no conclusion; those voices were pretty much drowned out, because tacit suspicions were trumped by quotes.

Some freepers decided Carroll had 'gone native', that her coerced statements were uncoerced, and railed against her--some on the left came to a parallel sort of conclusion, but quoted her statements effusively. I think the CPT team's comments reinforced that group of both side. If I were Carroll, I'd be pissed at both sets of people.

Could you point me to an interview or transcript so that I can see what she said. I have heard commentary from others about her and about what she said, but I have no first-hand actual interviews with Jill Carroll herself.

Perhaps you are actually telling the people who are pretending to speak for Ms. Carroll to STFU. Cuz this young woman seems to really want to get back to her family and friends and get over a horrifying incident. She seems to want some downtime to decompress and such.

Are you upset that she essentially called her kidnappers good guys in sitting for that video (and doing the the Islamic Party interview) in order to get out alive, or that she renounced that film and said they were murderous thugs when she perceived the threat to be over?

One set of statements made great propaganda for one side in the debate; her reversal statement makes great gist for the other side's mill.

I'm glad she's alive. And I'm glad that she's reversed herself, so that she's not justifying the people that terrified her and tried to use her for propaganda and extortion purposes, threatened her with death because she happened to be of the wrong nationality, and killed her translator in front of her.
