I was rejected by MoveOn. They contacted me, asked me to be a
a spokesperson for their ad campaign against Thelma Drake, Va. senatorial candidate. All was going well until I told her that I once ran as a Green Party candidate for House of Delegates, 2003. She said that the Republicans and the media would focus on this and not the issue of Thelma's horrible record, so she told me I couldn't be the spokesperson. I understand her point but it was disappointing. Plus, I feel like we are caving in if we have to deny the progressive side of us. Why should we run from our true beliefs if fear that the repubs will tear us up in the media? I could easily switch the focus back on Thelma and away from myself, but, no.

3. Unfortunately, Nader was seen as too radical and then there is.....
....that issue of him accepting money from republicans. That is why I would never support a third party candidate unless I knew I wanted to stick to that third party for ever more. When we make decisions we have to live with the good as well as the bad. Life simply sucks sometimes.

All it takes is one story and we're ready to join in with the Republicans bashing MoveOn.

8. MoveOn Got Me In Trouble
voting day 04. The supervisor of the precinct was none to happy with what I was told to do by MoveOn and comes to find out, it was illegal.

Then last night after I started doing this phone banking for them - they have a great system set up where you can call from a list of folks, one by one in an e-mail with the script and answers all there to report for each name.

But....in the script - you say your doing a "political survey" and they don't want you to say you're with MoveOn... That really bothered me and I wondered why they didn't want you to identify who you were with.

5. Former national co-chair of Greens
I was a national co-chair of the Greens and Move On has had no problem with me be on the council for my local team. I have gotten nothing but support from our local organizer.
