Today's White House catch-phrase: "Way Premature Speculation"

White House: No comment on Snow departure rumors

CANCUN, Mexico (Reuters) - White House spokesman Scott McClellan declined to speculate on Thursday about reports Treasury Secretary John Snow may be replaced.

But he said Joshua Bolten, President George W. Bush's incoming chief of staff, has the authority to recommend changes in administration staff. "Josh has the authority to do what he feels is needed. He'll be looking at the White House structure and personnel," McClellan said.

"Any speculation at this point is way premature," McClellan said during a visit by Bush to the Chichen-Itza pyramid. "The president appreciates the job his economic team is doing. We have a strong economy and we're going to continue to act on progrowth policies to keep it strong."

:spray:

The New York Times reported on Thursday that Bolten wants Snow replaced with someone who can present the administration's message more forcefully.

2. I'd like to see the other "Bolton" go; he's skeery, and wasn't
picked by a majority to begin with. :scared:

3. I think they're going to use traditional herd-thinning measures...
...the oldest, the youngest, the weakest, those who seem most likely to "want to spend more time with their families" and / or "pursue other opportunities"...I've worked in H.R. during my career and I know how these things are planned behind closed doors...

I'd be willing to bet that when Bolton's time at the U.N. draws near there will be some sort of "double secret probation"-style extension that will be vital for national security reasons, etc. etc. etc...

Doesn't Glaxo-SmithKline have a cure for that? Ask your 'spin doctor' if NoPreSpec* is right for you!"
