Clark Shocked By Bush Budget
Little Rock - Wes Clark criticized President Bush's proposed budget, which projects a $521 billion deficit for Fiscal Year 2005:

"Today's budget proposal makes it clear what President Bush's priorities are: tax cuts for the rich and tough luck for everyone else. Bush's new budget slashes funding for agriculture, the environment, and small businesses. And he wants to make his tax cuts for the rich permanent, creating deficits as far as the eye can see. George Bush is leaving our children to pay off his record debt increases.

"Worst of all, President Bush has resorted to cheap gimmicks to disguise the full cost of his plans. The President says we're at war, and he's right. So where is the money in this budget for Iraq and Afghanistan? He's going to wait until after the election to tell the American people what this war is really going to cost. I will bring a higher standard of leadership to America, and that means being honest with the American people about how the government spends their money."

3. I love it when
Bush gets bashed. If the Dems lose the election I feel we can blame it on the media. Every candidate until he drops out should get equal coverage. Carol Moseley-Braun got very little coverage and they constantly ignore Kucinich. Kucinich deserves as much coverage as the rest of the lot but the media considers him a loser. He is not a loser. I am still a Deanie but Kucinich deserves better. More power to Clark for telling it like it is.

7. That is what he (or any Dem candidate) should do
Announce a press conference - Candidate X (incl. Kerry, Clark, Edwards, Dean) wants to make a statement about cosmetic surgery and Botox.

Then the candidate says "No amount of botox or cosmetic surgery can hide that this budget is grotesque, full of warts, etc."

6. And the $521 billion is not counting the $160 billion taken from SS..
So, in reality, the deficit is closing in on $700 billion dollars! per year!
