Kerry/Ford...any thoughts?
Rep. Ford(D-TN) has been on Crossfire a couple times in the last week, as a well-spoken John Kerry cheerleader...Would putting Ford on the ticket be a way to help motivate even more blacks to the polls in the South...?

3. Kerry/Ford would make people walk, IMHO
Ford's way too conservative for my tastes.

5. Like Ford or not

And he's not my favorite as his views tend to be pretty Conservative, but I have said for about towo years that I think Harold Ford, Jr. will probably be the first black president. He just has got "it"......he is definitely though a moderate - conservative Democrat.

6. You are 100% correct.
He is too conservative and he will be president one day. He's very telegenic and he has the right mix of "southern" charm and "Northern" fast talk/quips.

7. I've never been a huge fan of the guy
For someone so young to be that moderate, kinda makes me pause.

10. People change.
Teddy Roosevelt started out really conservative and became more liberal as he got older. Not as liberal as we are mind you, but liberal enough to bust the trusts and go third party against the Republicans.

14. As I have pointed out here in the past,
Ford is the most 'liberal' national lawmaker from the state of Tennessee. He is more liberal than Gore was. If he was any more 'liberal,' he would almost certainly find his political career stonewalled. So all this 'DINO' talk does is reinforce the notion that large swaths of the Democratic/left base are out of touch with reality. Ford is a smart man who understands his state, and knows what it takes to get elected there. If that makes one a 'DINO,' then this party really is finished, as Zell Miller -- a true 'DINO' -- claims it is.

Although I don't really know much about him.

11. There's something about Mary
Mary Landrieu is the near exact fit we need for most of the Democratic front runners. She works for all but Edwards. She puts the great state of Louisiana in play for the Democrats, helps with women, young people, and the south in general.

A great all around pick

13. UGH! That would guarantee my vote against Kerry even if he
suddenly started claiming that FDR had appeared to him in a vision.

Ford is a DINO. His comments opposing Pelosi were sickening.
