IMHO, Card resignation timed to deflect uproar over pre-war memo leak
all the major networks are gushing over his dedication to the Liar-in-chief. Card also submitted his resignation 3 weeks ago to reports airing already, and GWB "accepted" his resignation over the weekend. Why wait that long, except to deflect attention away from impeachable offenses not to mention throwing the biggest deficit in our country's history to be handed down to the next generation to pay for.

1. I'd have to disagree with you on that one actually.
Republicans have been screaming for some sort of shakeup to the White House staff for a while now. I think they wanted to get a feel for whether or not Bush's "campaigning" last week was effective at all before going through with anything drastic.

4. Chris Matthews just commented on Bolten as a step
backwards from Card and still within Bush's little Bubble World. Nothing will change, maybe get worse for BushCo.

6. Oh, I don't disagree with that assessment
And I don't think there's anything they can or will do that's going to change their culture of incompetence and ignorance. Alls I'm saying is that this has been long, long called for by the party.

5. Downing Street Memo was mentioned last night by Andrea Mitchell on KO
If MSNBC didn't censor KO's airing of it, it should have picked up steam today if it weren't for the "sudden" resignation. * has a rose garden press conference later today. Should be interesting if the reporters ignore the resignation, and go for the pre-war memo that proves gw is a liar.

7. I prefer to believe that in a short time we will hear that Card is being
indicted for "insider trading" with the lobbyist, scamming Target stores, sleeping with Gannon/Guckert, something. I just don't believe for one minute that Chucklenuts is listening to anyone but the little voices in his head about a "shake up" in the White House. Chucklenuts just doesn't care what anyone says or does so there is no need to resign, shake up, reorganize, because everything is F.I.N.E. No way Chimpy would allow Card to resign unless there is something more coming down the pike. Card may fall on his sword for The Asswipe but that is the extent of his "spending more time with the family, I'm really tired" schick. Betcha there is more to this story. The question now is do we have any journalists left to sniff out the story? That's my theory and I'm sticking with it until I'm proved wrong.
