Barbara Bush's Katrina "donation" is a metaphor for Bushco shell games

Barbara Bush donated some money to Katrina victims but earmarked it for a company owned by son Neil.

This act is just a modest example of the circular looting that's been going on with the Bush family and its cronies.

Consider this: George W. Bush has sent Americans to their deaths in order that the Bush family trust fund be enriched through George H.W. Bush's financial holdings. An untold fortune has passed from the American treasury into the pockets of the family and its friends. The Bushes used barrels of American blood and thousands of grisly wounds and bashed heads and broken hearts and weeping mothers to divert billions of dollars to their own fortunes.

The pattern is old, in the family. Joe Conason did a marvelous job of detailing some of the family's chicanery in Harper's 2000.

And so, the next question put to George W. Bush by the press is this:

Mr. President, in light of your mother's apparently self-serving charitable contribution to Katrina victims, will the Bush family open its books and divulge any transactions related to war or disaster -- particularly transactions that benefit any member of the family or any family holding?
