era when non of them served in the military. Most got deferments like Cheney who had 'other priorities' Maybe if they had experienced war they wouldn't be so eager to want it for others. What they are trying to do is link the war protesters from today & vietnam to the dems. Most of them believe that vietnam could have been won if we had 'stayed the course'. Maybe we would have won if they had bothered to volunteer instead of hiding out in the national guard & schools. Of course, maybe being a war planner requires no military experience so they didn't want to ruin their chances by serving.
