"I'm just stalling for time here, heh heh."
He actually just said that.
Question about rising interest rates.
"First of all, an independent body sets interest rates."
(IT'S NOT MY FAULT!)
"I'm just stalling for time here, heh heh."
(OH GOD! WILL THIS DAMN THING EVER END?)

It is painful to watch this man.

1. New meme: "Lose our nerve and leave prematurely."
Please substitute this for the overworked "Cut and Run" from now on.
Thank you.

14. I suppose we should follow his example and lose our minds instead
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 01:37 PM by kenny blankenship
To surrender our reason--that's what he wants. Give in to hatred and shame and just let him control us, pull the strings of our emotions, and drag us down with him all the way. What is he offering? What's the upside? That the violence of the struggle is a value by itself, a purification for the national spirit (through fleshly mortification)? Never mind that the war in Iraq is a lost cause. Never mind that by "succeeding" we only help Iran, and further bankrupt our own country. Never mind that the whole thing was begun as a mass deception against the AMerican public and world opinion, as a conspiracy to commit warcrime.
No thanks Mr. Bush. I prefer to keep my opposition to your crimes whole and in tact. I prefer to "lose my nerve." You ask too much: I will not consent to losing my self-respect and my reason and my hope for my country.

2. He's spent more time looking down than answering.
Wasting time trying to run out some imaginary clock.

4. The inappropriate "heh hehs" and sentences punctuated with
"uuuuuuuuuhs"...and then there is his overblown pronounciation of simple words, like he is teaching English as a second language.

The man is a DUNCE.

7. I always thought he pronounces a lot of words
as though he just memorized how to say them yesterday. He sounds just like my son did when he was in grammar school and learning new words.

10. And he is so damn PROUD of himself, too, when he feels he's said it right
He spits out a three syllable word, and then rocks back on his heels with a satisfied "heh heh!"

5. He keeps trying to shame us into supporting the war.
I don't think it's working.

When are people going to notice that he's nuts? Isn't that the shoe that's ready to drop?

He and some speech writer fellers wrote it right down on this here piece of paper, but I caint read it now cos there's pork rinds all coverin' it up. I cain help it that I get hungry durin' these big todo's: I'm jus a regular guy. The kind who might have a beer with you (and then disembowel you in the alley behind the bar during my psychotic alcohol induced blackouts)."

9. Don't underestimate the power of that "aw shucks" and "golly gee" delivery
It garnered a lot of votes for him in past elections. I saw a study once, can't remember where, that showed a frightening percentage of Americans vote for the guy they can imagine having a beer with. I guess that's certainly easier than getting off their asses and learning the issues.

In Bush's case, that delivery is part calculation and part stupidity, but it works for him, unfortunately.

11. What sort of nitwits want to drink beer with an alcoholic???
That's the part that slays me! A cup of coffee, maybe, or lunch--but beer with a drunk? That's begging for a barfight!
