1. Clark is the only original thinker in the race
Everyone else has ripped off bits and pieces of his campaign.

Kudos to Clark, but "Only"? Clark swiped DK's Department of Peace concept - but like all great blues musicians, it's okay to steal a few good riffs here & there.

26. Dean is not a major candidate.
He is running in fewer states than Sharpton.

2. Begging your pardon
And I say this without any animosity towards Clark but Dean was in this race before most of America had even heard of Clark.

7. Clark
running for D nomination longer than he's been a D. And people want him leading our party to the white house?

Whatev!

I ask, where the hell have you been, Wesley? Our party is suffering, and all the while you're speaking in front of republicans. Sorry, I'm hard pressed to support anyone who doesn't support my party.

Because of all the idiots running it! Clarks got my vote with no problem.

13. Huh?
Please make up your mind. On one hand, you're accusing Clark of being a Republican. At the exact same time, you're saying he's representing the leadership of the Democratic Party.

Which is it?

18. The insinuation is obvious.
Bringing up the age-old Clark "speaking in front of republicans" mantra isn't insinuating that he's a Republican?

Sure it isn't. Believe that if you wish; I choose not to.

"running for D nomination longer than he's been a D"

Let me guess - you meant "before he was a D, he was an I" and not "before he was a D, he was an R."

Right? Of course, you certainly didn't mean to insinuate that he was a Republican until recently. Sure.

Regardless of your intent, your assertion is incorrect. Clark was registered as a D in Arkansas during the 2002 election cycle - several people have recently posted scans of his 2002 registration document on DU.

The 2002 elections were obviously well before he joined the race for the nomination.

22. There's nothing to misinterpret.
"running for D nomination longer than he's been a D."

He's been registered as a D since 2002. He started his campaign after that time.

Therefore, he has been a D longer than he's been running for the nomination. This, in case you have difficulty making the connection, is the exact opposite of your assertion (italicized above, just in case you misinterpret what I am referring to as "your assertion".)

That being the case, your assertion (again, it's italicized above to avoid any confusion) is false. I misinterpreted nothing.

Re: Clark's registration. You can use the Search functions just as easily as the rest of us. The document is out there - several people have posted copies. Search away.

23. Something's wrong
He was NOT registered D when he began his run for office. He registered in October.

He doesn't deny this. Why do you?

I can use the search function, but if this information is at your fingertips you ought to provide it.

25. Please refute this:
Wesley Clark: Still Not a Democrat
Turns out the Presidential candidate hasn't yet changed his party affiliation as a registered independent in Arkansas

It may come as a surprise to some of his supporters, but Democratic Presidential candidate Wesley K. Clark still hasn't joined the Democratic Party. According to the Pulaski County (Ark.) Voter Registrar's office, the former four-star general remains a registered independent. Even though he has been a declared candidate for the Dem nomination for two weeks now, he has yet to officially change his party affiliation.

30. As many articles have since stated (that one is months old),
the Pulaski County system has been having serious computer and data storage problems.

Some of the problems have since been rectified, which resulted in the recovery of the document in my other response.

29. Here you go.
Here's one: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=188951#189027

Registered D on 1/7/02. Voted as a D on 5/21/02 in the primary.

The document was posted a bunch of times and was discussed in many threads. Apparently, you managed to miss all of those conversations.

Now, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain that Clark was not running for President on 1/7/02.

Or 5/21/02, for that matter.

But, since you're always right and the rest of us are always wrong, (you know - misinterpreting your claims and so on), this document must be a fake. Or maybe he was running for President at that time and none of us knew it.

Yes, something's wrong here.

By the way, if you're going to name call and condescend, at least try to have accurate information first.

19. Do you make over $1 million?
> please tell me if Clark is going to tax me
> like Dean wants to

Do you make over $1 million? If not, then no.

Simple plan...

  • > $1 million => income tax increase of 5%
  • < 50,000 and family of 4 => no income tax, period.
  • < 100,000 => variable tax cut, depending on specifics

I'm not bothered much be Dean refining his tax plan.

When it's a good idea, run with it.

8. If you make a factual assertion about a candidate that is not generally
accepted to be true, you must provide a link to a reputable source to back up
your claim. Allegedly "innocent" questions which are actually an
underhanded effort to spread rumors are not allowed. If you really need to know
the answer to your question, try Google.
