Dean of Sealed Records will Get No Respect for "Special Interests" Ploy
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 12:14 PM by WiseMen
The Dean of Sealed Records, of “We didn't want anything embarrassing appearing in the papers” fame, is now digging through Kerry’s Open Records to find any frivolous issue he can twist into an attack.

Howard Fineman on NBC last week muttered about the flood of speculative attacks filling his mail box from the Dean camp.

As far as I can figure, Deans strategy is to get some trivial issue into the press, then gasp to the next journalist he sees “I’m Shocked, Shocked, John Kerry needs to appologiize.”

Take the issue of Kerry’s “special interests” donations. Dean knows very well that if you don’t take any PAC money (and Kerry has not throughout his career) there is no choice but to take vastly more individual contributions from people regardless of what industries they work in. That is exactly what the Dean campaign is doing. Stretch this process across 20 years and you are bound to have lots of contributors in any business no matter how you slice it. But Dean is “Shocked! Shocked!”

Now Dean’s neophyte supporters may think what Dean is doing is cute, but among professionals Dean is just making a fool of himself. If by some turn of events Dean was to get the nomination he is going to have a hard time getting any respect.

1. LOL It's OK when others do it, but Dean is held to a higher standard
as usual.

2. Howard Fineman, huh?
The author of one of the most damning cover story articles about Dean, released in a timely fashion - just prior to the Iowas caucuses. Howard Fineman, confronted on the eve of the Iowa caucuses and accused by another pundit for being responsible for Dean's falling numbers and credibility. Howard Fineman, present at the media pow-wow gathering with Kerry just weeks before the Iowa caucuses...

3. Well, I see this another .....
Dump on Dean Day around here, anything to deflect from the incoming at the Kerry campaign to get the heat off him. Dean, the DLC's favorite whipping boy. The thing is, they still don't get it, Dean ain't laying down for it. The old saying, "that which doesn't kill you, just makes you stronger" never rang truer for Dr. Govenor Howard Dean.
The MTP interview must have alot of people worried.
Dean, Dean, Dean.... LOL

8. Guess Yesterday was Dump on Kerry Day. Want to compare threads

Think Dean is still Champion Dumper.

This is a thoughtfull analysis or Dean's "problem." I think he needs all the help he can get -- for the sake of us all.

11. His "Will Let a Judge Decide" line has been shown to be "without basis"
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 01:17 PM by Raya

I am trying to be polite.

Dean's friend, Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell, has filed to dismiss all efforts at access to records. What Dean said about letting a judge decide apparrently meant "We are going to bottle this up in court till the cows come home" or someting like that.

Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 02:00 PM by nomaco-10
taking the bait. The facts are out there about how, when and why ALL govenors have some sealed records when they leave office. Let the judge decide. I'm sure he has the experience with such matters to go thru the documents and release what, if anything should be released. If he doesn't, it will just be labeled a Dean cover up, as if Dean had the power to cover up anything. This is just another attempt to discredit Dean by his detractors and it has become rather tedious at best and not worthy of constant inuendo and discussion. THERE'S NOTHING THERE!!!

17. Fact is Dean's statements have been all contradicted by facts
yet he continues to mutter his excuses though no one believes him.

What he is doing is just the opposite of what he calls for in Bush/Cheney

I've still yet to see all these contradictions people keep talking about
Everyone says so because everyone says so, and not a single fact between them.
