Dean is getting desperate, talking about Kerry's botox
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=584&u=/nm/20040201/pl_nm/campaign_dean_botox_dc&printer=1

As he telephoned supporters around the country, Dean, a physician and the former governor of Vermont, glanced up and caught a glimpse of country singer Willie Nelson on television.

"It looks like he had Botox injections, too," Dean remarked with a broad smile.

After the laughter subsided, he quickly added: "I didn't say who the other person was. I didn't say who the other person was."

11. Dean AND the rest of them need to learn a Joke from a Slam.
I'm tired of the whole mess.

By the way, I just spent 5 minutes trying to remember a nasty "Joke" about something personal about Dean. I can't remember any.

Also, I don't care if a man or a woman uses Botox, Viagra, or Grecian Formula. I thought this was about what's inside the head, not cosmetics.

2. Yeah, it has become the centerpiece of his stump speech
Yep, that is the level of desperation. Just because the media loves to report snipes doesn't mean much in the long run.

Once Kerry uttered, "Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean..."

Dean is now suffering that same fate. He has to reclaim the lead he once had. He is doing it the same way he did it the first time, by attacking Kerry. Just like Gephardt, Kerry, Lieberman, et. al. attacked Dean when he was in the lead. Guess what? That's politics. It sucks. Just ask the Dean supporters who had to suffer through months of blistering attacks. Quite honestly, it is nice to be back on the attack instead of the defense, though I would prefer the delegates that come when one is in the lead. Catch-22 of running for President.

5. Somebody's getting desperate

Trying to spin a lighthearted joke into a vicious attack.

If this is too rough for Kerry and his supporters, I fear the effect of rove's attacks should Kerry be the nominee.

And of course, nobody said anything about Dean's (media manipulated) speech to supporters in Iowa.

6. "And the winner is....."
"The Politics of Mutual Assured Destruction!"

That spells MAD (as in CRAZY) in case anyone has forgotten.

I said it last Summer, I said it last Fall, I said it in November, December and January: As long as the Left continues to be the Cannibals and the Animals eating each other in "ring number three!", then we can forget becoming a meaningful political coalition.

May the best person win? Yeah. Right. BS.

7. typical smarmy Dean joke
He is toast, and he knows it, so he might as well campaign as if he has nothing to lose - other than his dignity.

9. Kerry's botox treatments are the least of my problems with him.
But it is a great example of how phony he is.

16. Please.
I am not a Kerry supporter but botox making someone "phony?" How many people use it?

And don't give me the "he lied about it" thing. He can't say he did and we all know it. It is still taboo for someone, espeically a man, to say that. Like a politician in the 80's saying they smoked pot.

15. They're not desperate
but many are flaming hypocrites who laughed and joked about every negative comment directed at Dean or Clark by Kerry and/or his supporters.

12. Why shouldn't he talk about it...
everybody else is? Dean's not supposed to joke, Dean's not supposed to say anything bad about Kerry, Dean's not supposed to get his supporters riled up, it's not "presidential". Would you have him sit in a corner somewhere and say nothing? Dean, Dean, Dean LOL

14. Dean jokes, opponents can't take it
The lack of humor in the campaigns of dean's opponents is downright scary. Like I need another reason to check property values in Canada.

17. yep the doctor isn't in anymore so now
he's getting desperate, not that I care as I never liked him anyway.

Why doesn't he find another nit to pick?

I'm no big Kerry fan, but the doc outta shut-up and LEARN! His mouth is what is killing his campaign, not Botox injections. Maybe he should get one in his mouth!
