Feingold's Censure is a test to see if Democrats can pull together.
If they all pulled together and made an issue of this it could be major.

All who vote for censure declare that they don't think Bush has a right to break the law.
All who vote against it side with Bush. He has a right to break the law at his whim.

This could be a strong message that could begin to shake things up and make the
Republicans possibly ponder the ramifications of publically siding with the Bush law breakers.

Do you want a strong Democrat who upholds the law, or a waffling Republican who disregards it?

BUT...

If it's not supported by the Democrats, it makes the censure look petty and powerless.
And it will reflect right back on all of them.

Do you want a ineffectual, timid Democrat or a Republican who takes a clear stand on issues?

----

Which way will it go?
Looks pretty petty up to this point.

Damn. They could be handing it all right back to the Republicans.

1. Signs ain't good so far...
...I've been reading a lot of "I haven't read it" and "I'd support an investigation" statements from Dems, but very little support for censure.

...I'm SHOCKED!

:sarcasm:

5. It's new. They're testing the waters back home.
Things may develop--I'm hoping, anyway.

3. How many Dems voted against cloture in the Alito nomination?
The Republic died a bipartisan death!

Dammit, what's the holdup? Does Bushit have to poll at 0% before they will complain?
