For those hoping for a Feingold presidential run...
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 11:38 PM by Rude Horner
this website may interest you. It's not something put together by Russ, but he obviously has some pretty serious supporters. I've bookmarked it and will take a look. I'm from Wisconsin and would definitely support Russ. He shows courage where many others don't, and stands up for his principles.

http://www.russforpresident.com/

It has TONS of information, and a lot of good stuff from Russ. The homepage is dedicated to Russ's censure motion. Some interesting quotes from him:

Wisconsin Sen. Russell Feingold accused fellow Democrats on Tuesday of cowering rather than holding a vote to censure President Bush over domestic spying.

"Democrats run and hide" when the administration invokes the war on terrorism, Feingold told reporters.

I hate to say it, but this is one time where we need to steal from Karl Rove's playbook. You have to go after the Republicans where they think they're strongest: national security. As Sen. Feingold consistently says, there's no way that the Democratic party can win elections if it cedes the issue of security to the Republican Party.

I'm amazed at Democrats ... cowering with this president's numbers so low," Feingold said

4. Join the momentum
In December www.russforpresident.com started a 50 state Blogs campaign. So far we have 14 state blogs up and running. I run the blog Iowa for Feingold (http://iowafeingold.blogspot.com). Here is info about the campaign.

The Russ For President 50 Blogs Strategy

The grassroots momentum has started, and you're invited to take part.

The conventional wisdom is that it's too early to be working towards the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primary. We should focus solely on the 2006 elections, and take the presidential race as it comes.

There is, unquestionably, some wisdom in this approach. But hasn't history taught us some harsh lessons about waiting to long to take action?

Unless progressive activists take strong, early action, Hillary Clinton will be our next presidential nominee. She's got the money. She's got the name recognition. She's got a fair amount of affection from the Democratic rank and file.

Hillary in the White House isn't the worst thing that could happen, but it's certainly not the best.

So, what can we do to stop this?

We can organize. We can set goals. We can meet them. We can help him start his campaign in November from a stronger position. Stronger name recognition. Stronger understanding of his positions. Stronger knowlege of his history of service to this country. And as the campaign ramps up, he'll already have the advantage of connections in the fifty states. Volunteers who have the advantage of knowing their peers across the country. Volunteers who are already battle-tested and ready to do what it takes to put him in the White House.

We already have blogs in 14 states -- we're almost a third of a way there. We need a blog in each state. We also need more contributors pumping their ideas and articles into the blogs. Change history, join the momentum today. Text

5. I'm beyond disappointed in the Democratic Party
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 11:49 PM by Danieljay
As a matter of fact, i'm beginning to loathe them as much as much as I do certain Republicans. Will I continue to vote Democratic? Probably, but not because I support them as much as I abhor the Republican Party. Unfortunately, that doesn't win elections. I really do believe at the rate this is going, this country will get much worse before, if ever, it gets any better. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for what they have stooped to. Many of them are simply licking the boots of their enemy in hopes that they won't get any bad press from a media that is owned and controlled by corporations and the corporate whores who sell their souls for publicity.

My apologies for the negativity but I've had it with these people. They talk the talk and then hide when it comes to making the tough decisions that represent what is RIGHT for this country.

The Russ Feingolds are few and far between these days. Shame on the Democratic party for not supporting his bravery, integrity, and persistance.

Bastards.

6. I've thought a lot about the stuff you've
said, and I understand the frustration. Believe me, I do. But think about it - why do politicians roll over and tuck their tail? Because they've afraid of the public reaction if they speak up! If we show STRONG support for a candidate who takes a stand, maybe others will get the idea and do the same!

Now is not the time to roll over! Make our voices heard! Let Russ know that you support him. Let other senators know how disappointed you are in them for not standing with Russ!

Believe me, I've gone through the roller coaster of emotions with Dems, but dammit! - I ain't about to give up on this!!

8. If you have time
I highly urge you to check out his campaign commercials - under multimedia. Especially the "vintage" one's. If he can translate that appeal into a national campaign, the underdog who 'can do anything if you put your mind to it', I think he's gold.
