Molly Ivins hits one out of the park!

Enough of the D.C. Dems
By Molly Ivins
March 2006 Issue

Mah fellow progressives, now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of the party. I don’t know about you, but I have had it with the D.C. Democrats, had it with the DLC Democrats, had it with every calculating, equivocating, triangulating, straddling, hair-splitting son of a bitch up there, and that includes Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I will not be supporting Senator Clinton because: a) she has no clear stand on the war and b) Terri Schiavo and flag-burning are not issues where you reach out to the other side and try to split the difference. You want to talk about lowering abortion rates through cooperation on sex education and contraception, fine, but don’t jack with stuff that is pure rightwing firewater.

I can’t see a damn soul in D.C. except Russ Feingold who is even worth considering for President. The rest of them seem to me so poisonously in hock to this system of legalized bribery they can’t even see straight.

God. Everything she just said! Right on!

:applause:

Peace.

6. Bartcop is having a major snit about this
Molly has shot to the top of his shitlist because she dared to condemn Hillary, the only Dem who can agree with everything * says and not get accused of being a member of the pink tutu club. Personally I agree with everything Molly says although I reserve the right to vote for Sen. Clinton in the general election should she survive the primary season and become the nominee.

I think Molly is as disgusted as most of us are. I don't think she really cares WHO stands up...just as long as SOMEONE does.

Peace.

12. Well, she is entitled to her opinion. I don't agree.
Got to take these people with a grain of salt when they jump on the band wagon to support someone based on one or two opinions. I question Senator Feingold's handling of this situation at this time. I als question his motives and yes I realize I am in the minority here. It could have been handled a lot more efficently and without bring the media into all of this mess.

35. Molly ignored the Democrats who advocate for Clean Elections
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 04:55 PM by blm
in her rush to attack them as a group.

Kerry and Wellstone drafted the Clean Elections bill, and Biden and Leahy signed on to it. Most media ignored the issue, then along came McCain-Feingold who received all the media attention and acclaim as "reformers" and Clean Elections was kicked to the curb.

One good thing is that a few states have since adopted the language of Kerry and Wellstone's Clean Elections bill for their own state elections.

26. Ahhh then you'd be a follower of the kind of DC dems she is refering to.
Of course you disagree. You should consider getting into politics to show Russ how its done, since you have posted to every single thread about Russ (and many multiple times) about how tweaked out you are about it. Move to WI and run against him in the primary (or at least vocally support any challenger he has), if you really think he is as bad you portend that is.

16. Molly wrote that before....
...Feingold STOOD UP for TRUTH and the LAW yesterday.
I KNOW she would applaud Sen. Feingold's STAND yesterday.
If you asked Molly why Feingold can not find much support in the rest of the Democratic Party,
she would just point to her column linked above.

I LOVE Molly, and wish she were in the Senate with Feingold and 98 other REAL Democrats.

17. Right on, Molly
Personally, I'd vote for Cynthia McKinney for having the guts and integrity to ask real questions about those intelligence and defense "failures" that led to 9/11. In case you're unaware, the 9/11 Commission has been exposed as a FRAUD and a new investigation is desperately needed

18. Thank you Molly for telling it like it is.
This is exactly what I want from Democrats, tell it like it is. No pussyfooting around, I am so tired of people being afraid of George W. Bush. He's a little wimp who's never had to work for anything in his life. I am so tired of people who are afraid to stand up to him and tell it like it is. I just want to tell them to STFU. I can't take much more of this. Why don't the Repubs just anoint Georgie king and get it over with. I am sorry if I am rambling but as I said I cannot take much more of this!

32. Molly has a hardon for Hillary, plain & simple. How many times is she
going to rant the same exact rant against Clinton, only with a few different names thown in each time to make it look fresh?

Maybe Hillary should put her back on the annual Clinton summer barbecue party list.

38. Her blatant hate for Hillary is disgusting. She should be ashamed.
Molly Ivins seems fixated on Hillary Clinton lately.

How many elections has Molly Ivins won?

Exactly.

How many times has she been caught plagiarizing?

Many.

Caught with inaccurate information?

Bingo.

Anyone who thinks Feingold is the only real choice for president in 2008 is a fool.
