Alan Colmes explains why he doesn't kick Hannity's ass
Colmes was a guest on Alex Bennett's talk show this morning on Sirius Left. He got rather animated when he started to discuss all the grief he gets from liberals for:

A. Being on the Fox payroll, and
B. Not bludgeoning Hannity on a nightly basis with a ball peen hammer.

As to A, he said he is doing a service to the nation by bringing the Democratic viewpoint to the Republican masses. He actually said he could not understand why more Democrats don't come on the show. LOL

As to B, he said he has to be calm and reasonable because otherwise the wingnuts who watch Fox would automatically tune him out.

1. Ummm... Hey, Alan?
You're so calm and reasonable you're invisible to these people. They don't pay any attention to you anyway. If you grew a goddam spine, they'd at least know you were there.

How lame.

2. colmes is just like our leaders in Congress.
He confuses letting Hannity clean his clock with maintaining his influence. The rightards laugh at him because he epitomizes the "meek" left. They tuned him out long ago. He lets himself be humiliated so as not to offend those who would never listen to him in the first place.

But that's not going to cut it.

Take a page from Stephen Colbert's book. Get some hutzpah.

5. I don't have cable and don't see any of the Fox news shows, but
I have heard Colmes on the Radio, and he's pretty good on the radio.

My take, (from hearing callers complain about his whimpy ways on the TV) is that he's a lot better on the radio than on the TV.

9. It actually takes a special kind of skill
to sit across from Hannity and listen to all that shit night after night.

If I had to listen to all that I'd be serving 10 years for manslaughter.

7. He's a joke and he knows it. He just doesn't like being told he is.
Gee Alan feelings are hurt - tough. Hannity supports policies that are KILLING PEOPLE with no end in sight. so just shut up and go away. You're not even worth cursing at.

12. He looks like he's going to break down and cry every
time I've watched. He certainly portrays liberals as weak and spineless, just like the GOP wants everyone to believe.

He is a disgrace.

You just know everyone at FOX laughs at him.

In fact, so do I.

What a great job! Nice easy money for being the token Democrat! Why don't they replace Colmes with a dummy?

18. Watch 'Outfoxed'
It sums up perfectly why Fox chooses to have Alan Colmes sitting next to Shawn Hannity, for pure contrast. He looks like a weak little weasel next to Hannity's "good looking American wholesomeness." People eat that shit up. God that show makes me want to fucking puke.

20. Hannity's a pussy
He'd fold like a card table if he had a co-host who actually called him on his bullshit. How about Hannity and Rhodes? Could you just imagine Randi Rhodes doing battle with Hannity every night? I'd have to watch that myself.

21. The real reason
Colmes uses up all his energy picking up his fat paycheck. No oomph left to do anything but be Hannity's punk. And he makes more money doing it than you and I put together.

22. Whenever Wes Clark is on FAUX,
he destroys those little turds like O'Lielly and HanRATity. He does it by ramaining calm but forceful with utter command of the facts and arguments. Colmes' talk about tuning him out is just baloney. He should voluntarily quit--he's such an embarrassment, to us and to himself. His excuse is the lamest I've ever heard.

23. HE'S NOT A LIBERAL.
Period. He acts like he's one. That's all. He's not. After the show, he and Hannity high five and hug a lot.

24. Memo to Colmes: They already tune you out
It's "O'Hannity and the Punching Bag".

Personally, I had always figured Alan lets Sean beat him up because he's just a big "liberal" pussy.

26. And as for B...
Isn't "House Lib'ral" Al assuming that ONLY wingnuts watch Fox?

If that's the case--I seriously don't know the stats--wouldn't Fox appreciate higher ratings that could come from, say, progressive viewers? If no, oh well; but if yes, how do expect to pull in more lefties unless you have someone who ADEQUATELY AND FIERCELY represents their position?
