Poll question: Has the news media been fair to your candidate?
Whether it's the Dean scream or the Kerry Botox issue, the news media is not doing their job. If you agree join in our class action lawsuit towards the media in General Discussion.

1. I think it is safe to say that
the media has not been fair to Congressman Dennis Kucinich. If you provide a link here, it will be easier to find the GD thread if it moves off of the front page!

2. Not fair, not only to my Candidate but
also to all the Candidates. They choose to cover whatever they percieve will carry the most photo ops. You only have to look at the so called debates. How many questions of substance were even asked? I don't know where these jounalists went to school or where they finished in their class. Doubt if any one of them finished in the top 5 percentile.

3. They declared Kerry's candidacy dead for months to dry up his fundraising
and ignored Kucinich and Edwards as irrelevant.

For months many of the Dean supporters laughed at those observations and called us "whiners" and "losers" for pointing to the media's unfair tactics.

Kerry had to WIN before the media gave him fair coverage.

4. As a Kucinich supporter, the answer is a resounding NO!
The corporate media in general has ceased to serve the public.

7. This Kucinich supporter agrees
From the very beginning, he was deemed a "minor" candidate and ignored in national broadcast and print media.

We do not know whether the American public would have warmed to him if he had gotten as much press coverage as Dean and Clark did. I suspect that the big boys in the media conglomerate found it advantageous to present Dean as the outer reaches of the "acceptable" left, so that Kucinich could then be characterized as a "fringe" candidate.

5. I'd say they've been pretty fair to Kerry
Although, it's not like Kerry has made a fool of himself on the campaign trail and given the media ammunition.

6. please
It isn't like you actually have to make a gaffe for them to turn it into one. Should they choose to take Kerry down- he will, by far, be the easiest to fire at. But as long as he is their choice and upholds the agenda and gets the nod from the powerbrokers, even waging illegal war wouldn't makes a blip on the radar.

Of course, they could be setting him up exactly because he will be the easiest to shoot down.

8. HAHAH...that's why they declared his candidacy dead drying up fundraising.
You thought it was pretty funny for months while the media did this.

10. yeah, but I wouldn't blame the media for that

Personally, I think I'm less critical of the media on this board than most people because I used to be a reporter, so I still have a soft spot in my heart for real journalists.

And most of the journalists that I respect have been fairly good when evaluating this primary.

But the mass media as a whole is so large I could see how it's easy to get caught up in how negative some segments of the media have been to certain candidates.

9. Unless your candidate is George Bush,
the answer must be NO.

This field of candidates was America's strongest in decades, representing the genuine spectrum of the Democratic Party, and collectively and individually the corporate media has done all it could to humble, silence and emasculate them.
