unloyalty oaths?
I saw a poll this morning asking "If Kerry is the nominee, will you vote for him?"

There is A LOT of people voting no.

So, let's don't hide behind an anonymous poll answer.

Tell us now.

If the nominee isn't your guy, will you vote for him?

It is only logical that if enough withhold their votes, Bush has a greater chance.

So tell us all why one might empower Bush for another 4.

1. Of course!
The reason? Because I have to cancel out this guy's vote:

23. What? No comments on this?
Maybe it has been up on this board before already.

It's the funniest, scariest thing I've read yet from The Onion!

3. I will vote Democrat
even if they nominate a house plant. Come to think of it, a house plant has more intelligence and integrity than the entire Bush Administration.....

4. HEEEEEEEEELL YES I'll vote for the nominee!
If there's a sudden change in candidates and the nominee is my neighbor's cat, with Janet's boob as the VP, that ticket gets my vote. ABB!!!

People on DU who say they won't vote for the nominee if it's not their guy make me feel homicidal and/or suicidal. :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

I think that the day we have a nominee for sure, any statement of "I'm not voting for him" should be an immediate tombstone.

ABB!!!!!!

7. DU Rules state that DU is for "democrats and other progressives"
That doesn't include * voters or people who stay home and brag about it to help * get 4 more years.

And if that's what you think a forum of Democrat voters are like, you think very lowly of your own (?) party.

But they sure do vote that way in the DU polls.

Courage of your convictions?

13. I guess we'll see later then, huh?
If 145 DU'ers step forward and state they won't support the nominee if it isn't their guy.

I believe that is the current number runing in the latest Kerry DU poll.

20. What is this? A transparent attempt to publically flog people
for not marching in lockstep?

You better wake up to the fact that voting for kerry is more than some are willing to whore themselves out for, and it is pathetic that allegiance is demanded based on the ABB threat. Dean was the compromise I was willing to accept---I will not kiss the boots of the DLC, while they sneer at us.

No, I will not vote for Kerry. Live with it.

22. Perhaps it's because we've ANSWERED this question
many times already.

It's simple. If the Democratic party puts ANY candidate who voted FOR the IRW, I will write in a Democrat who didn't.

Now, you can bitch and moan and call me any kind of "traitor" you see fit because for me it is YOU who is the traitor to democracy.

It is YOU who will settle for more deaths in Iraq for nothing more than a win in your column.

It is YOU who are as hypocritical as the republican party and it's supporters.

It is YOU who have become that which we (Democrats) profess to hate.

Sorry but I won't haul ass for Kerry. He not only doesn't inspire me, he UNinspires me.

I'll be working to win the Dems another House seat in the MI legislature. National scene got ya down? How about state and local efforts instead? I hope folks disappointed in the Prez election will consider it.

32. Well, I think this thread will motivate people to vote their beliefs
in the primary, instead of going with the flow and this "who is the most electable" beauty pageant. As it should be.

That is the one thing that p*ssed me off more than anything during the primaries. Interviewing folks who did not vote their convictions, but voted who they thought looked most "presidential". Were these folks planted by the DNC or what?

I think we have a great field this year and ANY one of them could beat Shrub.

Thank you to the orginial poster of this thread. I think you may have done Kerry a bit of a dis-service by motivating people to vote their convictions in the Primary.

Thanks again.

31. It's called accountability
I'm not voting for a Bush enabler or a moral coward. I will not have backroom deals decide my nominee, especially when that nominee has absolutely nothing to offer.

35. Of course, even if a Kerry nomination means defeat in November
it won't happen with my vote.

The guy is a quintissential Washington insider who's going to be tarred for his fund raising from special interests, his "ineffectiveness" in Congress (this is one of the oldest Democratic attack lines, used against countless Republicans, when the Dems controlled the Congress), and for his vote against GWI (think pictures of burning oil wells and stolen incubators).

I really, really don't trust Clark. He's too much of somebody's gollum to just come out of the woods and run for President. But he'd be a stronger candidate against Bush.
