Michigan - Gov. Granholm gives support to Sen. Kerry
Sen. John Kerry leads the battle for key endorsements in Michigan for the Feb. 7 Democratic Presidential Caucus.

On Saturday, Gov. Jennifer Granholm formally endorsed the Massachusetts Senator as her choice for her party’s nomination.

The Lansing State Journal reported Sunday that Granholm told Kerry Saturday via satellite video link that he was “the best Democratic candidate to take on George Bush, take back the White House and get America back on track.”

Mark Kornblau, a spokesperson for Kerry’s campaign in Michigan, said the campaign graciously welcomed Granholm’s endorsement.

3. Well, Dean had Gore, Harkin, & Bradley
and came in third in Iowa. This hurts his strategy, because Granholm was thought to be ready to endorse Dean a few weeks ago.

Dean should have tried to compete in a couple of the Feb 3 events. The strategy adopted is very risky. He could be sidelined if either Edwards or Clark emerges as the prime challenger to Kerry after Tuesday.

4. Actually, I think Dean would benefit from the emergence of a challenger.
The worst scenario for Dean would be for Kerry to sweep most or all of the Feb. 3 states, which could happen, according to the polls.
