Ewwwwww!
I got this via email, so the veracity of it is highly suspect.

Still, ewwwwww!

Christian Mother Cuts Off Daughter's Arms
Dallas, Texas (where else?), USA
L.A. Times, OC Edition, 11/24/04
Dena Schlosser, 35, chopped the little arms off her eleven month old daughter Margaret. Dena, no doubt a Pro-Bush staunch "right to lifer" out to prevent any one from having an abortion, didn't think twice about killing her own child. She had calmly cut her baby's arms off while listening to Christian hymns playing on her stereo. When police arrived, the devout Christian was sitting in her living room, holding a knife and drenched in blood with the church music still playing. Her baby was in the bedroom, armless and bleeding to death. She later died at the hospital, safe from her mother's Christian care. Her husband John told police that the night before she had said she wanted to "give her children to God" because that's what the Bible said to do. They attended the "Water of Life Church" in Plano, Texas, where the preacher Mr. Davidson teaches that doctors aren't necessary because people can be healed if their faith is "in the right place."

Imagine the uproar (frome the Christian right) if she had done this after playing GTA or had been listening to Slayer instead of good healthy Christian cut off your baby's arms music.

2. Read up on the case.

The Dena Schlosser Case
Just when you think the post-partum psychosis cases can’t get any worse, along comes the Dena Schlosser case. This one is so horrific that I predict that it will not be a big media circus. The details are just too repugnant to deal with for long. This woman (glup) severed her infant’s arms while listening to hymns, something she freely and calmly admitted to the 911 operator who called her home.

3. She will probably get away with it. A mistrial was declared 2/26/06
with the jury deadlocked 10-2 in favor of not guilty by reason of insanity.

5. At this rate...The "Prophet Matthias" could even make an appearance
We've been down this road before during The Second Great Awakening of the early 19th century.

6. I suspect this lady was suffering from post partum or some
other mental illness. I think most fundies are crazy, but, in all fairness, they're not THAT crazy! I know they wouldn't agree this is ever the right thing to do either!

Same thing happened with that lady who drowned all of her kids in the bathtub. If I remember right, she said similar things.

7. The mother was god crazy
and although this is sensationalized to the max, it's essentially correct. We don't know how this sick woman voted, or if she voted, but we do know the debbil made her do it.

In Europe, any mother's killing of a child under two years of age is investigated very carefully for signs of post partum psychosis in the mother. They're way ahead of us in this regard. We barely admit it exists enough to get wealthy women treatment for it.

The poor are left to their own devices, and generally end up harming themselves or their children or both. Then we jail them.

8. she is insane so being a fundie is irrelevant
of course if she had belonged to another environment, fundies would have used that to propagate their filth. But saying that she did that BECAUSE she is a fundie is a mistake. She could have belonged to any sect or even none. The result would have been the same.

The problem has to do with a society that cannot track those deviances at an earlier stage and deal with them before the drama arrives.
