I have given so much to Dean. Everything and still I give...

Since last June, I have volunteered thousands of hours for Dean, spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at Kinko's, Staples, etc. In Arizona I have walked over 60 miles in the past three weeks canvassing precincts, getting out the vote, I have neglected all else because I believed in his call to arms, I wanted to believe and I still believe in the spirit of that message. I have papers to grade and am tired as hell. Tomorrow after school I will be out canvassing again for him because I can't stop now. Tuesday approaches. I do so not in the name of Dean for America, but rather for Yuma for Dean... an organization that has never received ONE DIME from Dean for America, but rather gave and gave to Vermont. Betrayed, hurt, burned. But still we must fight. Corruption and incompetence sneaks into the most holiest of crusades.

Long live grassroots: God save us if they die.

1. I admire you, yet I hope you work as hard or harder in Nov.
That's when it all counts. Keep it up.

4. Hey! Thanks for all your hard work!
I wish I could be as dedicated as you. I wasn't sure who to support until now or I would've been doing the same. I decided this week I'll vote for Dean in the primaries. My vote doesn't come until May 4th though so it will be pretty much decided by then. If anything, it will just be a message if he's not in or whatnot. But 5 of my family members just decided this week to vote for him as well and 2 are leaning that way. I'm also giving a donation this week.

Thanks for all you've done!

7. Oh, I am SO there. . .
Here in Ohio we have been operating on faith and our own fund-raising for Dean. We've downloaded flyers, spent our own money, raised our own money to get copies made, etc., etc.

When the story of the Dean campaign is written, there will, hopefully, be a chapter on those who were not lucky enough to live in Iowa or New Hampshire but soldiered on, without financial support or supplies from Vermont Headquarters. Yes, we know that contests more "important" than ours mattered, and yes, we fully realized the strategy of the campaign (in regards to the IA caucus and the NH primary) did not include us. But the real untold story is the folks who DID IT and DID IT ALONE and kept the faith.

I wish we had been accorded the attention given to IA or NH. But I still gotta say that I don't regret a goddam minute of it, I haven't given up, and I STILL believe in the Gov. Considering what we've done, on our own, that says a helluva lot.

15. There have been less than 5000 hours since June
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 07:14 PM by MAlibdem
That means you spent 6 hours a day volunteering for Dean. Amazing.

Lol, your efforts are appreciated for the good of the party...and america.

edit-adding good...estimating rough (40% of actual 5000 hours)

19. "Betrayed, etc.?" Hmmm, that's not my experience or feelings at all
and we rang the doorbells, made the calls, stood out in the freezing cold of Iowa waving signs, spent hundreds of our own dollars, yet we feel it was worth every penny to try to "take our county back."
I don't know what you are talking about as all the other people/Stormers here (Illinois) that I have spoken to feel exactly the same as me.
