I just saw a weird-ass contradictory report on abortion on ABC News
I've been reading all week about a report that shows that Texas parental notification laws have not made much of a dent in abortions among teenage girls. The ABC report totally contradicted that report and said that the laws have made a big difference in encouraging girls to have their babies. It was reported in such a way like it was such a positive thing for an underage girl to have a baby, and if you have an abortion, you'll regret it.

It did say, however, that the rate of 2nd trimester abortions has gone up 34%, because girls put off telling their parents.

I was just amazed because I thought the story had such an obvious slant to it. Did anybody else see it?

2. Saw it, too. Disguisting.
17-year-olds waiting it out for their birthdays, risking their health.

Can we get this country back in the hands of rational thinkers?

3. When we do get control...
The religous right must be neutered...they must lose their tax emempt status.....they have for too long mixed church and state....
there must be consequences for what they have done to this country and it's citizens....

Unfortunately all other churches will be impacted by this...

But we must do this for the safety and the longivity of this country!!!

4. I read it online
and yes, it was self contradictory. The girls aren't having those babies, they're just waiting until they turn 18 and the squeal law no longer applies. That's when they have the more expensive and far riskier second trimester abortion.

Clearly, this is nuts.

The report was heavily biased to the point it made no sense whatsoever.

6. What was up 34% was
Women waiting until the second trimester to have abortions because they will become legally able (17) to make the decision themselves. That what was up 34%. The number of women over 17 having second trimester abortions. Did you also see on Nightline the Bayou single woman first time baby family program that actually works, but is getting gutted in *s budget. Big tragedy there as well.
