Rove, Moore to speak locally {Bowling Green, OH, 3/11} (Toledo Free Press)
By Staff Reports

Rove to headline BG banquet

Congressman Paul E. Gillmor (R-Old Fort) announced Feb. 27 that Bush administration senior political advisor Karl Rove will be the featured speaker at the Annual Fifth District Lincoln-Hayes Banquet. Rove will speak at the banquet at Bowling Green State University's Bowen-Thompson Student Union on at 6:30 p.m. March 11.

The Lincoln-Hayes Banquet is hosted annually by Congressman Gillmor, the nine-term congressman from Ohio's Fifth Congressional District. The event honors one of the most prominent Republicans in our nation's history, President Abraham Lincoln, along with one of Ohio's favorite sons, President Rutherford B. Hayes.

'Ten Commandments' judge to speak in Monclova

Chief Justice Roy S. Moore, who in 2003 sparked national debate by placing the Ten Commandments on display in an Alabama state judicial building, will speak at the Monclova Road Baptist Church auditorium at 7 p.m. March 14.

"We believe this country was founded on Christian principles," he said. "And we really believe that any religious group has the right to obviously have freedom of speech and the right to preach what they believe. We would stand for that for any religious group. But by the same token, we don't want our rights taken away, and I think that's happening in many of our courtrooms today."

comment: Well, we certainly are losing our rights, and often in courtrooms. It's people like Moore and Rove who are causing it.

I'm sure these dignitaries would like to see a large, vocal crowd greet them on arrival. Can we do something to arrange that?

1. Sounds like a real knee slapper of a night's entertainment
a real rip roaring party.

It's going to be one of those events where they consolidate the "crowd" into one section of seats to make the photos look like it wasn't a total frost.

The only way that fool Moore can redeem himself is to start a religious party and split the GOP. They are even getting sick of him in Alabama.
