A story from Tennessee and some advice for future canidates

Let me tell you a story of here in Tennessee. There is a guy named Terry Stulce running for Congress against a very popular republican here named Zach Wamp who has been winning since 1992. Before Mr. Stucle another democrat named Mr. Wolfe ran against Wamp since 1997. I remember that year because his niece was in a lot of my classes in that year and she was talking about her helping his campaign. In the Tn forum a poster came and said Mr. Wolfe was thinking about running again against Mr. Wamp but only thing is Mr. Stucle has already been campaigning a good while now and is a part of the Band of Brothers and already has been making a lot of political speeches and was even featured at the Gore family dinner here in Tennessee. So even though both men would've kicked some ass in the House the person who posted the message in the Tn forum said Mr. Wolfe decided to support Mr. Stulce instead and help him out. So instead of jumping in the ring right away why not test out the waters first? See who is running, how they appear to be doing, if you can get donors etc. In my opinion you shouldn't jump in something without being committed to it especially an election and an election in these times. Learn to network and make connections and use your resources wisely whether the internet, radio, local media. I don't think you should make promises to anybody of course but just really do the work. You have to be willing. And if your opponent gets a huge endorsement than still network. Keep on networking and building your career. Things don't happen over night. Politics is a tough game. If you're not ready try again another time. But I guess the whole point of this post is to do like Mr. Wolfe did. Check things out and see your chances before jumping in and putting the time, effort, sweat and tears involved. This has to be the year we take our country back. Thanks for listening. :)
