Why I will vote for whoever the democrats nominate...
When I joined this site I did so because I saw a moderator post that said that the main purpose of this exchange was to have a forum for people who want George W. Bush to no longer be President....

That is still why I come here. In the past they have beat us because they are able to move in lock step against us. Democrats by their very nature are independent and convicted people who, often to our disadvantage, will allow the worst to happen in an effort to make our point.
Perhaps now is the time that we abandon that tactic to make a better point....
Perhaps if you are truly dedicated to the removal of this menace to civilization you should think about this,...
Suppose Sen Kerry gets the nomination, on election day you could do one of five things:
A) Vote for Kerry
B) Vote for Bush
C) Vote for some third candidate
D) Write in your own name
E) Stay home
.... I submit that if any of you do anything other than vote the democratic ticket (option A), you have defeated the entire reason you joined this site....
.... All along we have been called bleeding hearts because we feel for others and try to help them (any chain is only as strong as its weakest link)... maybe it's time to think with our heads as well as our hearts.
VOTE DEMOCRATIC IN 2004 (no matter who the nominee is)

1. well said
That's the bottom line. It's either ABB or wake up November 6 and we're back to square one.

3. Right on!
Reading all these Dean(and many other candidates) grump that if Kerry wins they wont vote for him makes me sick! Are you guys crazy?
Vote for whoever wins the nomination like I will! If you guys say your all against Bush then refuse to vote for the Dem nominee whoever he may be, then you are a flat out joke!

5. it's a different fight right now
I suspect most of what's going on right now reflects the intensity of the primary battle. Once the nominee is settled and we go back to focusing on what a big fucking piece of shit George W. Bush is, people will wake up.

I say that as a HUGE Dean supporter who really, really, REALLY hates Kerry, but I hate W and everything he represents even more. There may be a few die hards to who stick to their guns, but I doubt it'll be enough to really matter in the general election.

Let's not forget the context in which the currest debate is taking place. People will get over it and quickly remember the past four years.

7. I understand your wondering, but
they seem to be 'true believers' to me...which will bring the country the same result in the end.

2004 is just too darn important not to be ABB.

6. if merely getting rid of Bush is the purpose
then its not even worth fighting for.
What a pathetic low standard.

8. Disagree.
Step 1 is to get BushCo out.

Then, we take some real action.

With BushCo in power another 4 years, we seriously may not be able to take any action at all.

Think in increments!

9. Agree
We don't look for another President - if we did, I suggest the nominee to embrace the slogan "vote for me, I'm not Bush!"

We're looking for someone who can and will change the Government so that it serves and represents the people, and not merely their perception of his predecessor.

11. I haven't made up my mind who I will vote for in the Primary, I plan
to vote for the candidate that I think will be the best to go up against Bush. One thing is for certain, I will vote for whoever is nominated come November. RE-ELECT A DEMOCRAT IN 2004!!!!
