For John Kerry Supporting the Fighting Dems, Feels Like 1972 Again
March 4th, 2006 @ 7:04 pm

Washington Whispers reports, complete with snark and snide comments, that John Kerry, Max Cleland and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Wade Sanders are teaming up to help some 70 Democratic Iraq war vets win in the 2006 elections for Congress.

The February political footnotes included this little item: Sen. John Kerry in less than 24 hours last week raised $250,000 in an E-mail to his fans for three Democratic Iraq war vets running for Congress. But Kerry’s effort wasn’t a fire-and-forget for his comrades. Insiders say Kerry and his war pals Max Cleland, former Georgia senator, and fellow ex-Swift boat skipper Wade Sanders, have hatched plans to help some 70 Democratic Iraq war vets win office.

Good work on the part of Kerry’s fans if you ask me — the fact that his supporters anted up a quarter million for this cause in less than 24 hours speaks volumes about the interest in getting real veteran’s into office and getting rid of the Chicken Hawks that pose as being tough on national security.

5. "I just want to make out with him" feels a little inappropriate for this.
So, instead-- uh, yay! It's good to be back in reality again.

17. This really is an interesting part of Kerry 2006 effort
Even now, it's the Democrats who have the most veterans in office. If a significant number of these veterans get in, it might help shift the Reblicans = pro-military canard.

It's also interesting that it's linked to the new group, allied with Kerry, that intends to defend people from swiftbaoting. It will be interesting to see what it does and whether they find effective means to deal with slime. (Unfair though it is slime, by it's very nature is easy to spread and hard to counter.)
