Why dont they talk about Clark?
http://www.normantranscript.com/story.php?story_id=5872&c=1

That's why...
because he's busy beating the crap out of George Bush. Sure, he could say something like 'Why the hell is Joe Lieberman still in the race?' and it would get tremendous press coverage, and pundits would talk about it etc... but it doesnt serve the greater good.

W has to go - and while other candidates are out there calling people republicans and defending their votes to help Bush on the IWR - Wes is out there giving the republicans hell.

1. It's still frustrating
I have been searching Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, & S.Carolina newspapers for news of Clark's campaign.

I'm just about fed up.

Good to see a newspaper with such a postive, accurate report on Clark. :D

Go Wes!

3. No. The media is trying to do to Clark what they did to Kerry for months.
They declared Kerry's candidacy dead for months to dry up his fundraising. Edwards, too. He was declared irrelevant.

Clark can pull through just as they had to. It's not easy, but, you can't stop trying.

5. 2 Problems with your assertion
A) Nobody was paying attention when they were doing that to Kerry, except political junkies

B) We are in the midst of primary season, where media coverage is far, far, more important.

13. The people donating to campaigns were paying attention.

Kerry had to actually win FIRST before he got any fair coverage. Same with Edwards. He had to top Dean before the media noticed he existed.

10. Except that
they were ignoring Clark when he was running first or second. He was in first place and the only thing they would say about him is that he was sliding.

6. Just my opinion but....
I think the election 2004 is more than about "beating Bush".

It's about defining the identity of the Democratic party and in my opinion, people are missing the point due to the fears of George W. Bush.

While the Right Wing is constantly putting up new faces in the American political theatre to ensure the future victories of their blatantly biased agenda, the Democratic party plays the "safe card" of pushing the same people who have failed us in the past.
(example: 2002 senatorial elections in my state...Mondale vs. Coleman)

Whoever becomes the nominee this year, I hope the Democratic party pro actively tries to bring in "new faces" to bridge the widening gap between the other factions like the Greens.

7. Great article
Thanks for posting this. I've noticed the media has Clark back on "ignore" for the most part. CBS, ABC, NBC, and all of the 24/7 news channels rarely mention Clark at all anymore, unless it's to take a swipe at him.

How nice to see a positive article. Thanks again!

9. Please help me to again believe that "being out there calling other
candidates Republicans" is not better. Or some other such slimy politicing. It sure seems to be working well for some others. They get all the press coverage and their numbers keep rising.

11. The reasons they ignore or bash Wes Clark:
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 05:30 PM by Donna Zen
First, Clark has written and spoken out against PNAC. I remember when it came up in Marshall's TPM interview and the following day Krystal was calling Clark crazy in the Weekly Standard. Marshall's memo the following day pointed out that Clark knew exactly what he was talking about, and he knew exactly where to find them.

Second, and this reason has taken some time for me to figure out, it really is the MIC. I have written here on occasion when pointing to reasons that I support Clark, that of all of the candidates, only Clark could and would end the MIC game. Recently, when leaving an event, a woman asked Clark about the MIC. Clark said that not only did it exist, but that it was getting bigger. He said he knew how the Pentagon budget worked and he would end the abuse.

About an hour ago I finished reading WINNING MODERN WAR, and I am more convinced of these reasons than ever. I F Stone once said that war is a six trillion dollar business and if you think they want peace you are crazy. Clark's book exposes PNAC, yes, but more than that, it is a journey down the real path that must be taken if we are to move toward peace.

Those media giants are all part of the MIC one way or another. They will keep Clark off the radar unless they want to bash him. They will sell us their puppets or Democratic dupes who cannot win. Eisenhower who coined the phrase had wanted to say Military Industrial Political Complex but changed his mind. Today, he would only be correct if he said: Military Industrial Political and Media Complex. This is the last election we will have before the take over of BBV, thus, the last election we will ever have, watching us throw it away breaks my heart.

Krugman said that there are two candidates who get it; Clark and Dean. Both know that this is about the Democracy stupid. Dean was never my pick because Clark was clearly in a better place to handle the beast.

Nominate Clark and the question becomes "How does bush win?" That is why they will do everything and anything to stop that from happening.

Despite Wes K. Clark's third place finish in
New Hampshire Tuesday night, those results are yesterday's news and we remain firmly in his corner.

Clark: Iraq war wasn't patriotic

The polls and the pundits say Wesley Clark is losing support in New Hampshire. Try telling that to the nearly 1,400 people who screamed themselves hoarse for Clark at two rallies yesterday.
