Show of hands: Who here is a seated, *elected* Democrat office holder?
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 02:27 PM by TechBear_Seattle
I'm curious as to how many registered DU people actually hold partisan office. I don't care at what level, whether city council or member of the US Senate. I don't need to know your real name or the office you hold. (I would be most interested in knowing but I understand you might want to keep your involvement here "under wraps.") Basically, I want to find out whether the concerns, complaints, etc. being posted here are actually being heard by elected officials, or if DU is nothing more than an echo chamber.

Edit: Now recast as a poll: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2483507&mesg_id=2483507
Please direct responses there.

2. Don't know if this counts. I was an elected official to represent
my local party group at the state convention. I did take the opportunity to discuss our concerns with the people who are running for office, such as Jim Davis and Rod Smith who are running for governor.

Being an office holder isn't the only way you can get out your message. I try to attend local, county and state events where I can both listen and speak to representatives of our party. At these events the people who are running for office are not only interested, they actively solicit the opinions of those in attendance.

3. Don't you mean, Democratic office holder?
Please don't use Republican nomenclature. Democrats are members of the Democratic Party.

4. I am specifically looking for...
... people who hold office as a member of the Democrat Party, or who at least ran and won under the party's banner.
