What did Joe Trippi do for Jerry Brown in 1992?

When I tried to use google to find out, the closest I came was an Atlanta Journal Constituion article which said Trippi "did a few ads" for Brown in 1992.

I don't even know what that means. TV ads? Print ads? Was Trippi the director?

1. Brokered convention??
"During that campaign, I recall some of Brown's talk being the same as what Trippi is saying here. Brown thought that if he could broker the convention, that he'd be chosen over Clinton."

Didn't know that. Also didn't know Trippi had worked on all of Dean's governor's races. So Dean is well aware of the way Trippi operates.

5. He may have been behind the toll-free number
Back in 1992 (when the web was off-limits to most people), having a 1-800 number for campaign contris was "cutting edge". Brown had it all over his literature, bumper stickers, t-shirts etc. It was a big reason why he was able to raise funds, IMHO.

IIRC, Trippi's got advertising experience, so it's probably safe to say he was the one behind the idea. Not a bad idea at all, IMHO.

3. Yep
Dean was a Gephardt supporter in '88 too. I find that interesting because Gep though I like the guy was a conservative dem in '88. Its ok that Dean supported him, its just suprising to be honest.

4. Trippi was peripheral to Brown campaign
Steve Schmidt I believe was much more important than Trippi in crafting the "Take Back America" platform.
