Commentary: Sticking with Wes

Excerpts:
"Despite Wes K. Clark's third place finish in

New Hampshire Tuesday night, those results are yesterday's news and we remain firmly in his corner. Wes is in Oklahoma today and heading for Albuquerque, NM this afternoon."

SNIP
"Another reason we are sticking with Wes is that we like him and he is our friend. We believe you don't turn your back on your friends and you see them through challenging times. In these political times when jumping ship is considered noble, we prefer to stay loyal."

SNIP
"With even less hesitation we endorse the candidacy of Wesley K. Clark!"

Just a little "pick me up" for my fellow Clark supporters.

5. Another pick me up
I drive 5 days a week all over Detroit's western suburbs. I have seen exactly TWO bumperstickers: both were for Clark! Haven't seen a thing for Dean or Kerry yet, much less Bush. Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't, but it sure as hell made me happy!

8. Wesley--Jeffords
I was thinking about the Republican thing with Wesley.
You know...no one was complaining when Jeffords turned Independent.
Infact everyone was thrilled and I think any canidate who starts in on this issue better think twice before pounding away on it.
It would be a good come back for Wesley in a debate.

9. The Republicans
didn't complain about Reagan's former Democratic affiliation when he ran either. No accusations of Trojan Horse or Dem plant.

Accusing canidates of being "Republicans" may do something for a samppl portion of the base but it will backfire in the GE when we will need all the crossover votes we can get. Trashing someone for being a Republican won't make them want to vote you you.

11. If Clark was ever a Republican that might make sense. He was never
registered as a Republican, however. He was an independent during his years in the military and registered Democratic in 2002, largely due to what he saw the Bush administration doing.

The "Republican" bull is on the same level as Shelton's Bull. All deliberate smears.

If Clark is enough of a democrat for George McGovern and Bill Clinton and Charlie Rangel and all those others, that's good enough for me and for anyone at all interested in the truth.

13. A good comeback, indeed
The "closet Republican" allegation is about the weakest attack imaginable, and smacks of desperation. That that's about the only charge certain candidates level at Clark shows how formidable he really is.

I've always thought Clark was our best chance of beating Bush, but now he's shown that he's also a helluva guy with truly innovative policies that would really put America back on track to peace and prosperity.

I'll support the Democratic nominee regardless, but if it's Clark I'll actually be excited about doing so.
