Dean Won't Stay In Race Until Convention If He Can't Win
MR. RUSSERT: Howard Dean stays in this race all the way to the convention?

DR. DEAN: I'm not going to do anything that's going to harm the Democratic Party if we get blown out again and again and again. You know, if somebody else gets more delegates and they clinch it, of course, I'm not going to go all the way to the convention just to prove a point.

But I'm going to be in this race as long as I think I can win. And I've always said I don't think this race is going to be decided until after March 2 or perhaps March 9 or even later than that. And we're going to do everything we can to stay in...

1. Hey Dr. Funk...nice to see you
I saw MTP this morning. I agree with The Note, Dean looked surly.

4. Good for him.
hopefully some of his fringe supporters will also pick up the ABB banner, and kick spaceshrub out.

Dean would be a great advisor on any Democrats team.

6. If Howard doesn't get the nomination, he'd be awesome heading
up the DNC. He could do a lot of good fundraising, recruiting, and speaking out on the issues that need addressing.

11. "fringe supporters"?
Attempts to discredit and marginalize.

And you think I will rally under your ABB banner? Think again.

8. He's not really campaigning this Tues.
Dean's campaign is gonna focus more on midwest and west, I believe. I think this is good. Dean has stronger support in states like Washington and Michigan and I really think he will acquit himself well there.

We've got to let the people decide this one. Dean did well for himself on MTP. He put the focus back on why people where drawn to his candidacy in the first place.

10. If you don't think we were angry with the Democrats
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 07:16 AM by CWebster
before Kerry and his kingmakers pulled their stunts to annoint Kerry, I suggest you quit your bullying of Dean out of the race.

What makes you think the anger many enlightened Democrats sought in Dean to voice, will be in any way diminished by the obvious power ploys of the DLC dominated establishment party?

i am angrier than ever and I wear it as a badge of honor.

14. I don't get it
Isn't this a good position for a candidate to have? What is the point of staying in until the convention if you cannot win? Would people want Dean to do that?

15. Nah, it's just that any negative news about Dean must be posted.
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 07:32 AM by joshcryer
Even if it's not negative but can be spun that way. :)

17. And then they have the nerve to ask us what Kerry can do
to win our votes, WHEN they aren't demanding another loyalty oath.

Not gonna happen, sooner or later the party will learn that they can not demand we carry the banner while they kick us out.
