all along that I believe there is a real chance that Bush will be asked not to run by his party because he is such a divisive figure and might lose the WH for pubs.

NOW - I think with all the really serious stuff looming big in the Republican's immediate future, the pubs will demand another candidate.

Really, who else in their party has any national exposure? It's like they've crowned President For Life.....their demand for total obedience means no one is allowed to challenge or question Bush (and, by proxy, the RNC). Longterm, that's not a smart way to run an organization. If Bush goes down, who'll be in the wings? Jeb Bush? Tom DeLay? Dick Cheney? Bill Frist?
