Do not marginalize Dennis Kucinich
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 12:40 PM by Virgil
Kerry is the Plutocratic Representative of the Democratic Party. To attack Kerry would mean you would have to attack NAFTA and the WTO as tools of international industry. They will not attack NATFA and they will not attack Kerry. Kucinich is for with withdrawal from the WTO and ending NAFTA and the press will ignore his position because the Plutocracy demands silence to any opposition. They say he looks like a Munckin and he does not have a chance and he should drop out or that he should not be in the debate. It is Kucinich that is for changing Plutocratic Rule.

There is no issue that burns me up more than the corruption that could even consider putting electronic voting machines in American elections. The idea that paperless trails is so ludicrous in the true sense of the word it is not worth discussing. Kerry and his Plutocratic friends not only sent federal funding for newly mandated standards through without the absolutely obviously needed requirement they print a record, they have not changed it. You could hook a printer up to a $100 printer and get a receipt and a back up copy. But the Plutocratic Press does not raise the whoop-*ss concern I and others have from finding out the atrocities used in going ahead with paperless machines. They do not even report the situation. They filter the subject of BBV out of the news.

They do not report that the problem with medical cannabis is that it is welded into Schedule 1 so that it cannot be researched without the permission of the federal government and in particular, the FDA. They do not tell you that an intellectual classification would mean they could not use a commerce clause to interfere with California's medical cannabis laws. They do not tell people that if there were intellectually classified that the 80% of the people that support medical cannabis would then have gotten medical cannabis in their state. They would have Medicle Miracle Plant because the federal lid of total prohibition would be off. Once total prohibition was destroyed, freedom of consumption for the general populace would have returned and you could have an herbal remedy in your garden for hangovers, headaches, and everyday pains along with some serious chronic pains that is best addressed with the safety of cannabis. Not because it is safest mind you, which is very important to physicians whose guiding principle is "Do no harm", there are some things cannabis is the only solution for. Many times it is the best solution, without even considering the toxicity of the patent medicines. The ganjaganda says only if all else fails, when it should say try cannabis first, it has a proven track record of safety. If you do not smoke it, you will not even cough.

Now I went out of my way on the medical cannabis and I go out of the way to insert the fact that Dennis Kucinich is the cannabist's choice for President. He is also the only candidate for ending the drug wars. Like I say, what I would normally say has to be bent to say that Kerry is a drug warrior. Kerry is warring on my freedom and the freedom of every American. If Kerry wants to war on freedom, bring it on. I will war with him.

I could go on but NAFTA, BBV, and the Schedule Onle Lie are plenty enough for Kerry to attack. The press could cover Kucinich on these issues or they could ask any of millions that share these ignored concerns, but the Plutocratic Press will not attack this and other real issues. They will not cover these issues, or the issue of ending the use of depleted uranium weapons like Kucinich advocates, because they do not report the views in the news, they filter it so that it all sounds like elevator music.

Kerry has been using the drug war to war on freedom. So do most of the others in Congress as the Plutocratic masters have taken over Congress and the White House. I will war with Kerry on my own and I also have my representative in the Presidential race warring for my freedom and the American definition of freedom for all Americans. That would be Dennis Kucinich. He is not supported by the Plutocratic Press. He is not supported by Plutocratic politicians. He is not supported with Plutocratic contributions. His main support comes from people that are opposed to Plutocratic rule.

Do not marginalize what Dennis Kucinich stands for or who he is. He is the only true canditate for the people. He will tell you we must have paper trails. He will tell you that NAFTA must end and we should withdrawal from the WTO. He will tell you that it is time to end the militarization of the world using the drug wars to drive up prices and control the flow of profits, and that we must seek a health care solution with the guiding torch being harm reduction. He will not only mention DU where the press will avoid it because of Plutocratic instruction, he will tell you we must end the inhumanity of the practice. He will also so that we were absolutely wrong to invade Iraq and that we are guilty of an illegal invasion.

With all the press can say about Kucinich, they ask him why he goes on. Now why would you expect a press that does that to attack Kerry when they are the ones that shot his biggest rival?

2. Every person that
decries the media manipulation of our political process, but then chooses their candidate based on who the media will talk about, is part of the problem.

It only reinforces the media control to give them the power to affect your choice. If it's wrong to marginalize candidates, don't.

No more talking about poll numbers, which are obviously skewed by who the media focuses on and how they spin that focus.

No more ignoring a candidate because the media has.

No more categorizing a candidate inaccurately because the media has.

don't need the media to filter what information we should have, and what we shouldn't. We need them to give it to us straight and unvarnished. To give every candidate equal time, equal coverage, and equal respect. And let the people choose.

If the media is not doing their job, we need to remove our support. Quit watching the damn tv news. Take their ratings down. Quit subscribing to news that participates in marginalizing people, and start demanding, loudly and frequently, the complete story without spin.

Every person that marginalizes Dennis Kucinich based on what the mainstream media does is guilty of supporting that corruption.

:grr:

3. agreed
plus turning off the TV does wonders in general.
As you point out it is up to individuals to get past the mainstream media filter. But many progressive folks don't take the time or effort, they just listen to NPR and read NYT; only somewhat aware of the filter and not likely to do much about it.

4. Why do you attack Kerry when all the major candidates share most of those

issue positions in a broad sense?

I am not a Kerry supporter, he is my third choice, a signifigant amount behind Clark and then Edwards, but I don't understand why you take the rant out on Kerry.

He actually probably has a more liberal record than Kucinich according to most left/right groups. And you seem to be of the "more left, more pure" mindset, which I am not

And I do think, by the way, that Kucinich and Sharpton are preventing the democratic voters from a real debate, which is impossible with so many candidates, and they should follow Ambassador Brauns example. But I know they won't. It's unfair to the voters in my opinion.

9. Joe and John are drug warriors too
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 12:51 PM by Virgil
I regard John Edwards and Joe Lieberman as drug warriors also, and have said so. I have outlined several things on the Kerry record and was refuted with "Your argument has no merit." How stupid can you get? Yes, most of Congress is there because Plutocratic rule demands that their representatives be drug warriors.

I champion the slogan "NRA- Never Re-elect Anybody." I am for clearing Congress of the Plutocratic Representatives that war on drugs and war on the best public good. It is not just Kerry, but do not tell me, that Kerry is no drug warrior. I know better and I am not backing down or going to let nonsense like my position is unfounded stand. Congress is full of drug warriors and Kerry has been there 19 years which in drug warrior justice automatically makes him guilty of conspricy, which is the same as doing the act yourself.

Lieberman and Edwards are drug warriors too. Does that make you happy?

14. "Kucinich and Sharpton are preventing the democratic voters..
from a real debate"??
There are many fine candidates for the Democratic party. Only one candidate has won any primaries so far. That leaves things wide open for the others, in my eyes. For ALL the others.
There is a huge push to have a presumptive nominee for Democrats to rally around by March; the argument is that by waiting until the convention there will be too little time to adequately oppose Bush. But look at it this way...Bush won't be able to focus the crosshairs on any particular candidate until July, and ALL the candidates can continue to blast Bush for what he has done to our country.

16. Kucinich receives Kudos for his debate performances
Some debate would lack substance without him. I especially remember how he redirected the post-Gore endorsement debate away from all the questions of "why aren't you giving up?"

5. agree - just because the press ignores him doesn't mean

he is not supported.

and I think some dems have dumbly gone for the sound bite that he is great but can't win.

and don't think he is a creampuff. it would be a waste of time for the bushgang to whisper warnings in his ear.

6. That's why he and Sharpton have to be silenced.
The NYT has decreed that they don't belong in the next debate, and there's no shortage of participants on a progressive website who agree.

The boundaries of acceptable liberalism must keep moving rightward along with everyone else. Now get in line and vote for whom you're told.

13. Damn straight
It's a sad day when positions put forth by Richard Nixon in 1972 (a mandator living wage) are seen as "radical" by today's Democrats.

NO RIGHT TURN for the Democrats.

10. Some miunutae on Kerry the Drug Warrior

Kerry sponsored enabling legislation

http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v01/n920/a04.html?3255

"So that June, Senator John Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat, sponsored legislation that would exempt American officials from any liability stemming from the destruction of suspected drug-trafficking planes. With that protection in place, Mr. Clinton ordered American airmen and technicians in December to join the Andean anti-drug operations."

15. Kucinich ALLOWED the media to marginalize him
He should have had enough sense, given his political experience, than to ever discuss outre/exotic/eccentric aspects of his life with any media of the media, or allow the media access to any function he attended which were associated with such aspects of his life. Stick your hand in the snake cage, and you are bound to get bitten.
