About Today's Meet The Press
Dean is doing very well. And Russert, I think you'll have to admit, is a thousand times better today than he was last summer or fall when Dean was on.

Russert is actually acting like he respects Dean, and Dean is shining.

That said, I don't know if this is going to change anyone's mind about him.

He's a great guy, but doesn't strike you as presidential.

2. Dean is not "presidential".
If "presidential"(or whatever that is) is the only quality that is of any importance, Dean is not your man.

17. Who the hell gets to define Presidential? I say he is plenty presidential!
But I am still for Clark.

I lost all respect for Kerry in the past two days. He can't win! He can't energize the base.

3. yes
If Kerry wasn't in the race, Dean would probably have sold me if I was undecided.

6. I'm watching MTP right now
a little blurb. TR: Have you released your medical records? HD: No were getting those together right now, I think everyone should do that. TR change subject. I think that could be an issue with Kerry, having so recently gone thru prostate surgery, not with the primary, but after what * did to McCain in 2000 with push polling it scares me to think of what his minions will do with this issue. Maybe they could bring up the fact that the *'s brain has to be checked regularly through his asshole.

4. I agree with you that he's doing well, but

one of the hallmarks of this campaign seems to be, if you don't like a particular candidate, come up with a vague adjective, say he lacks it, and affirm that that is a good enough reason to reject him. Ah, the American Idol culture...

9. Only Presidents are Presidential
Most candidates are not perceived as presidential before they become president. They define "presidential" when they are actually in office.

Objectively, only Ronald Reagan and perhaps LBJ were initially seen as "presidential" because of their personal bearing. And Reagan was considered too radical to be talen seriously.

GWB was certainly not presidential when he ran. Ike was a mild-mannered genial old man. His WW2 eperience obviouisly gave him authority, but his persona was not "presidential." JFK was too young and too pretty for many people. Rven Clinton was not really "presidential" in terms of his personality and, er, lifestyle.

I think Dean does have qualities that could easily become "presidential" under the right circumstances.

10. He strikes me as very Presidential
I am ready for an honest person in the white house who says what he means and does play all sides of an issue.

13. I care.
In 20 years, when I'm 80, today's high school kids will be making decisions that affect my life. I hope he coninues to be involved in the process, and continues to make an effort to be as informed as he can.

When I was his age, I knew Meet The Press existed, but I hardly ever watched it. I had no idea what was happening in the political world, very little interest in the political process. Personally, I'm grateful for every young person who is paying attention on any level, regardless of who (s)he supports. It's your choice if you want to take the kids seriously, but there was nothing about that post that I thought deserved such a slam. If you don't want to look at an individual's posts, put them on "ignore" ... simple.

Thank you very much.

12. I guess to "be presidential" you have to be a corporate bootlicker
Enjoy the fixed election folks...corporate America 1 / American people 0

16. The biggest corporatist in the race is Howard Dean. I'm thankful the
corporatist Dean is no longer able to capture the Dem party by pretending to be a populist.
