Did Dean call Clark a Republican??
Oh My Gosh!!!

"Turns out we've got more than one Republican in the Democratic race," Dr. Dean told reporters on his campaign bus. "I've always said I thought Wes Clark was a Republican."

1. indeed he did...
and he called Kerry one, too.

The dying gasp of an increasingly irrelevant campaign.

5. It's regrettable
That Dean had to go ahead and add "I've always said" to "Clark is a Republican."

It turns rhetorical smear into a lie.

Really, Howard! I still think you're an honorable guy! Knock it off!

8. That may be the difference.
We're not playing. Democracy's at stake. This isn't a board game.

7. note to howard and the johns
i've said it before but i'll say it again...
it is hard enough being a democrat in the south, but to be called a republican by other democrats...
for a lot of northerners, you've still got republicans that are pretty reasonable people... Lincoln Chafee... Down here, we get Tom Delay. That's what republican means to me... It might as well be a four letter word - in fact, it's probably worse than a four letter word in my vocabulary.

i really like Wes Clark... if he's a republican, then I'm a republican... and if you want my vote in the fall, you're going to have to stop calling me Tom Delay.

i'm not a cockroach... i'm not a republican... i do all i can to further OUR cause down here so STEP OFF.

9. Or......?
Now me, I'll vote for the Democratic candidate in November no matter how long a list of sins he's committed. Even if I personally loathe him.

I know what's at stake.
