I just listened to the Hannity interview of Dr. Dean.
Question: Who was Hannity talking to when he said, "Stop, all right -- stop. He's surviving, okay? He's fine. Can we have five minutes here?"

Impressions: I would give him a solid A minus grade. He kicked Hannity's ass around the block on several points. (The minus is because he didn't hit Hannity with some version of the most obvious comeback -- when Hannity started quoting CLINTON to justify the war in Iraq -- "Um, hello? You hate Clinton, remember? This is the man you've called a murderer and rapist, you've claimed he murdered his friend Ron Brown, yadah yadah, suddenly his intelligence is trustworthy?"

Self-Reflection: Why do I still not like him?

Sigh.

Partly, it's the behavior of his supporters.

Mostly, I honestly think he would lose 48 states. The scream would be re-played 24/7, and the only think it would need to show is his red-faced crazy-looking intensity with the scream and a simple one-liner: "Do you want this man making vital decisions about the safety of our country?"

My answer would be, "No, but since my choices are him and *, he's by far the better choice," and I'd go vote for him. I truly believe that very few others, comparatively speaking, would.

He'd get Vermont and Massachusetts. He's get his ass kicked everywhere else. I want * out of office, but I can't support the doctor UNLESS he's our nominee -- in which case I will work my ass off for him, because I am ABB.

So, there you go. Dr. Dean kicked Hannity's ass. Congrats to the Dean supporters. Your guy did well. I'm at least re-thinking my discomfort with him and analyzing my hesitation and ill feelings.

4. whats your point?>
that you have no beliefs that you will fight for?
You are scared of republicans?
You will join whatever bandwagon the media tells you to join?

6. yeah, that's it.
All of the above.

Boy, I sure hope your candidate wins! Maybe we can work real closely together in the campaign and I can experience the joys of YOU up-close and personal?

Mods: spank me if you must. I'm going to bed.

All other Dean supporters: SEE? I'm trying here, really trying, to be much more fair to your guy, and SEE what happens?

:puke:

7. Hey! Read MY reply. I'm a Dean supporter too.
To be fair, most of us are just tired (in ALL camps).

Doesn't excuse the behavior, but it's, possibly, a mitigating factor.

5. I thought it was great
that Hannity couldn't do his "turn down the volume" shtick. He clearly was outclassed.

8. To answer your question:
I'm assuming that a few of Dean's supporters were in the studio to witness the event! (I'd want to see it--wouldn't you?) B-)

9. I could tell he had several people in there with him
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 02:03 AM by rumguy
Hannity interviewed a Dean volunteer before Dean himself was on.

The best was at the end you could hear Dean's supporters cheering him as he left the studio. They knew their guy had done well...

11. He mgiht actually lose Massachusetts. The states he'd win would be
VT, HI, and maybe Rhode Island. Those would be his only safe states in my opinion.

12. Dean kicked butt!!
I'm glad to hear you are considering Dean. I've felt for a long time that he has what it takes to effectively change Washington -- and America -- for the better. Whoever you decide to support, I would advise you to support that candidate based on his platform -- NOT on some *ahem* rude supporters :) If I was going to choose a candidate based on some of their supporters, I don't think I'd be voting for anyone in November! :D
