Caucus hard to call (ND)
Sen. April Fairfield, D-Eldridge, is co-chair of Howard Dean's presidential campaign in North Dakota, and even though she can be relied upon to give an impassioned pitch for Dean, saying he'll "carry the day" in Tuesday's presidential caucuses, she also expects Gen. Wesley Clark to do well in North Dakota.

She said her fellow Democrats seem to be attracted to Clark's military background, upbringing and foreign policy experience. But John Kerry is enjoying a nice bump after winning the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, even though his campaign hasn't had much of a presence in North Dakota up until the past two weeks.

A Forum-WDAY poll last week showed that 31 percent of likely Democratic voters favored Kerry, followed by 15 percent for Clark, 6 percent for Sen. John Edwards and 5 percent for Dean. But a whopping 40 percent were still undecided.
