Bush fears running against Dean
"Rove and Bush are terrified of Dean - witness the recent spate of negative reports in the "liberal" media. I believe Bush wants Dean out of the race, and is calling in favors he earned from media conglomerates when he rammed through the FCC rule changes allowing further industry consolidation."

My husband has been saying this and I believe it is logical if you believe as the evidence suggests that the 'liberal' media is using rove talking points in the 'news'.

1. Trust me - the media is picking out
the guy who they think has the most chance against Bush. The media DOES not want another 4 years of Bush*.

The candidate that's not going to step on their monopolistic gravy train or do anything to shake up the status quo. Pure and simple.

7. Why wouldn't the media want 4 more years of Bush? He threatened to veto
Why wouldn't the media want 4 more years of Bush? He threatened to veto a bill to reverse the FCC media-concentration decision.

Congress was planning to lower the ownership cap to 35% and ban cross-ownership of newpspapers and tv stations in the same city.

Instead, it just lowered the ownership cap to 39% and did nothing about cross-ownership.

10. You're right.
I'm sorry. It was a lead story on google which I thought meant it was the paper's editorial. But it appears to just be a letter to the editor...and my 1000th post. I'm bad.

8. I saw some stuff about Bush's fears re: Dean:
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 02:01 AM by secondtermdenier
of course it was on a bathroom wall and involved an overconfident Bush, alcohol poisoning and a deviated septum, but.... I wish it were otherwise. After all this time, I still don't see the Dean campaign showing a strong interest in actually beating Bush rather than exorcising various internal demons.

11. Sure... so Dean losing large leads and not winning is part of Bush plan?
Yuh. That's good. They are "terrified" alright.
