Clark is clearly leader nation needs
We need a true leader in the White House, a man with integrity, intelligence and vision - not a career politician beholden to special interests rather than to the citizens of our nation.

In three years, George Bush has alienated our allies, turned a surplus into the largest deficit in our history and misled us into an ongoing guerrilla war with more than 500 U.S. dead, thousands wounded and no end in sight.

We desperately need a leader who can clean up this mess and restore America to the people. Gen. Wesley Clark can pull us out of this crisis. Clark honorably served in combat, winning the Silver Star for bravery and a Purple Heart for being injured in battle. As a career military officer, Clark knows our enemy and what it will take to win this war.

Wes Clark will restore our relationships with our allies and bring real diplomacy and leadership back to the White House.

I urge Arizonans to vote for the one man who can beat George Bush this November, Wes Clark. - Richard Clewis, Tempe

1. THAT'S what we need
Less whining, more writing. Very cool.

2. Homilies, platitudes, cliches and non sequiturs
I hope Clark has more eloquent supporters. This letter is atrocious. It's hard to believe the writer graduated from anything more demanding than the 6th grade.

14. Critique
And I'd hope DUers would be more gracious, as well, but we can't have everything.

5. Thanks wyldwolf for posting this.
Well said by the writer and so true we need Wes Clark!

I watched his wife Gert today speak and what a fine first lady she will make and she also was interview by MSNBC after her speech on CSPAN in SC. She's the General's secret weapon...and watching her on the Today Show she shines and people notice.

Even with the lack of media and the negative talking heads the General still can get the votes. Pass the word of him, tell your friends and neighbors.
Wes Clark brings a freshness this country needs, not a politician that's been in Washington for 30 years with the same faces and no changes. We need new-blood with no strings to anyone, just the people's business for the first time in a longtime.

This country desperately needs the General, a complete outsider who has the qualities to lead America and knowledge to protect the people and give prosperity to all.
He comes from humble beginnings, no silver spoon like those who really don't know what it's like to go hungry or struggle to pay bills. Wes Clark worked his way up to where he became the highest ranking officer in the Army, a Four Star General who has the confidence and experience to be one of the Best Presidents' we have in history.

I pray this country doesn't lose out on him so we can begin to heal.

7. we DO need a leader, you couldn't be more right
but we need a leader who understands the business of governing this republic.

And most significantly, we need one who can communicate and inspire and draw to him those with the expertise needed to address a wide range of areas and that means contacts in a variety of areas.

Not just the military.

We need John Edwards. He has the understanding, he has a platform that he can get through Congress and that has stood the scrutiny of public examination for over a year. This is no risk, no gamble. He's got what it takes like noone else running.

10. Leader
not lawyer. Is he going to sue the nations who don't support us? What executive experience does this man have? He has to be one of the least qualified candidates in the field.

15. Experience
General Clark has international contacts that Edwards couldn't dream about, and it's those international contacts -- and respect -- that we need most to rapidly repair the damage that Bush has done to our credibility. Besides, Clark has plenty of contacts domestically, as he's worked in the White House and business, as well.

Of Clark, Dean, Edwards & Kerry, Edwards has arguably the least experience of the lot; though he may be the most personable and best speaker (except for that last debate).

8. Knows what it takes to win this war
Yes he probably does, and maybe the next president could give him his old job back? I've never heard a plausible reason why he lost it. He is certainly one of the brightest men in the military.

12. As opposed to a payee.
He had one boss, the company he worked for. He was not on the public payroll while selling out to the highest bidder.

13. His career ...
... as a lobbyist was brief, limited, and open to public scrutiny. We are still waiting for John's disclosure. Or does Bush get to do that for him?

16. I'm going to be completely honest here.
I'm not sure I trust Clark. But if I had nothing to go on except what they are saying, he would be MILES above John Kerry in my book.
