If Clark does win a couple of states next Tuesday, how does the media..

..report it? What will they say is the reason he won? Since they have said constantly that he is not a credible candidate, will they give him any credit at all? Or will they report that these were the states that were most friendly to Clark and it is doubtful that he will ever win another? He is still hopelessly behind the frontrunner, John Kerry. He is just a "pretender" - not a real contender?

10. I think we must organize against the media

Not that it will help Clark or Dean in this electoral season. But the pattern of behavior of the press indicates an intention to influence the outcome of the nomination process, and that must be opposed. I know conservatives who are as perturbed about this as I am. (BTW real conservatives are leaving the Bush bandwagon in droves. Taking long showers. Feeling betrayed and soiled. Stuff like that. This makes my craven little left leaning heart quiver with joy. But I digress.)

I think Fox and CNN should change their names to "Fox News Entertainment" and "Cable News Entertainment Network". That puts them in the same league as we the WWE. Well, not really. The WWE is carnival and they make no bones about it. The average pro wrestler has much more integrity than the average mass media journalist these days. Pathetic.

that Kerry won the important states, that Clark won't be able to afford to continue much longer, that there is no scenario that gives Clark enough delegates to beat Kerry.

Or they'll just say what Bill O'Lielly said on the day of the NH primary, before the votes were counted: "He's done. He just doesn't have what it takes on the...he's just done."

But the truth is that Clark is just getting started. Clark has been running vigorous campaigns in a number of states, and hasn't spent much money to do it. His campaign manager is the one that helped Bill Clinton beat another Bush twelve years ago. Paul Tsongas won NH; Tsongas also won most of the states voting Feb 3rd. I supported Tsongas here in Washington that year; but Clinton won here, and he won the nomination, too. And the Presidency.

Clark is a serious candidate with a serious organization, serious money, a serious resume to run on, and a serious message. After the election, the media will have a lot of explaining to do about their coverage, whether Clark wins or not. We will not forget.
