Smoking gun wiretap quote from Bush....Newsweek Mag..

Has anyone else read this Bush quote from the Feb 6 Newsweek in Jonathan Alter's column?!?!

Alter writes:

April 24, 2004, when Bush told a Buffalo audience: "Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires - a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so."

At this time Bush was all ready authorizing wiretaps w/o a court order.

Alter further contrasts this lie to that of the finger waving Clinton lie of no sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky.

What is it with the Democrat's inability to use this stuff that is all ready out there?

3. The "we don't own the media" excuses is getting old....

now, there are more things the Dems can do, but for whatever reason besides the "we don't own the media" excuse they don't do it.

See, if you think about the Clinton/Lewinsky witch hunts, the Rethugs used a very simple practice - they would take a question from some talk show pundit, answer it in five seconds and then throw the red meat topic of their real message out there. It's an old debating trick - answer, then get to the thing you really want to say.

My point is, every frigging Dem out there on television could deflect back to this point, but they don't. They are too busy being like Biden, Schumer and other mouth piece Dems - they think their stature is directly related to the amount of words they say and how many of them can fit in there "me, myself and I".

There are so many debating techniques out there that it is sickening the Dems can't get a handful of them down (Imagine this on MTP - Dem: "why don't you ask my counterpart about the wire tapping quote the President made in 04?" Russert: "What quote." "Why this quote." Russert to Mehlman: "Well, what about it?").

It's pathetic.
