Oh my goodness ! They're calling it "Botoxgate" !
"Jan. 31 - I admit it, I’ve looked at those supposed before-and-after photos of John Kerry and wondered if they really are evidence of botox-tampering. They are all over the Internet and as a writer who spends hours a day at the computer, I need some diversions now and then. I don’t really care whether or not the man had botox and I have found the whole thing amusing…until I read an article on Scotsman.com (yes, my fellow Americans, they’re talking about it in Scotland, too)   which suggested that, if it is determined that Sen. Kerry did have botox and has lied about it, it could cost him the election. "

23. Recent photo of John Kerry on January 28th following NH win...get real!
Winning primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire have lifted Kerry's spirits considerably--and it shows! The shorter hair cut also gives him a more youthful look.

(Notice, however, in the photo below his wrinkled forehead--you can't do that with botox, folks.)

7. I'm actually troubled that he might have lied.
I don't think it could have been more obvious at the debate unless he had a big BOTOX logo on his forehead - everything from the eyebrows up was frozen. Do I care he might have had a cosmetic procedure? Not in the least. Do I care that he could have been stupid enough to do so and THEN DENY IT, so the issue would be his credibility? YES!

IMHO he shouldn't have done it. But having frozen half his face, he should have fessed up. Much better a minor giggle in the press about botox than to bring his credibility to question.

10. As with anything
There's nothing wrong with Botox injections. The problem - in politics - is if you have had Botox injections and say you didn't. In that case, it's about honesty and integrity. Silly issue to get caught in. But, get ready to hear, "It's not about the Botox, it's about the lies."

15. The only problem is
there's no Botox. You can count the wrinkles in those pictures. Both pictures show the same wrinkles.

It's different lighting and a different facial expression so some wrinkles are deeper in one picture, but every single wrinkle is in both pictures

if Kerry farts and blames the dog would he be bringing down either himself or the dems? That's basically how I see this non issue. for the record, I don't think he used botox. And I really don't see much of a difference in any of these before and after photos execpt it looks to me like he is using more make up and the lighting is always different in all of them. But then again I don't know much about or care much about things like this in an election, or anything else for that matter.

If we left the World to be taken over by people who use Botox and may not want people to know about it, then we leave a World to our children that can only be seen by the children of the future as less wrinkled, yet really actually wrinkled underneath.

It's time to stand up to this madness, whatever it is.

It will go away if we start agressively asking media news people what cosmetic surgery they have had.

he colored his hair - he had a weave done to blend the grey. I have it done about every 12 weeks, probably won't last as long 4 a man tho, Plus his hair is styled differently, shorter on the sides 'n front and combed back OFF his face. Thats why he looks younger it's off his face.

that this has become a matter of serious discussion?

"Did Kerry lie about botox?" is evidently of more pressing concern than "Did Bush lie about Iraq?" Even though we know the answer to the second question is "Good Lord, yes."

I'm not in Kerry's corner, but this appalls and disgusts me.

It's appalling that the right can so dominate the discourse with such trivial nonsense, and disgusting that some on the left have no qualms about adopting their talking points in order to score cheap shots.

51. It's Always "Personal" Attacks Against Democrats, Isn't It?
The GOP and their media cronies always are eager to get away from issues and policies where they lose.

And so phony issues of "character" (George H. Bush's choice word against Clinton in 1992) and personal traits are the way the Republicans change the argument.

This crap about "Botox" against Kerry is just the same crap about "alpha male" they used against another Vietnam Veteran, Al Gore. It's to make them less manly...against the chickenhawks.

And, of course, it's not the policies Dean advocates, it's his "anger" and "temperament".

Kerry will always be more of a real man than George W. Bush can ever dream to be --- botox or no botox.

52. Who's calling it "Botoxgate"? People who'd like to avoid

talking about Howard Dean, who was supposed to be unstoppable, coming in 3rd in Iowa and 2nd in NH?

People who'd like to avoid talking about Howard Dean, who has assured national audiences he is "a great manager" who "can balance a budget,"
but now is revealed to have somehow not watched his campaign's books while it blew through $41 million?

People who'd like to avoid talking about Howard Dean, who is still trying to claim he's an "outsider" after being endorsed by Al Gore, Bill Bradley, Tom Harkin, et al., and hiring Roy Neel as his new campaign manager?

Anyone else care? I think this country needs to get over caring what candidates look like, what they do to improve their looks, what their wives look like, and all the other surface issues.

Am I hallucinating. I think the point of her story was to say "who cares!!!????". Really! I don't care if someone injects botox. I'd never get ten feet from that stuff.. Geez.. injecting poison into your face? Ever had food poisoning? It's botulism bacteria in small doses. I'm 44 and look, from what I've heard, to be mid-30s.. yet I have wrinkles on my forehead. Does that qualify me or disqualify me to be President? Who cares? I dont' care if Kerry has done this. We have plenty of other things to worry about.
