Who will drop out Wednesday morning?
Here's my bet:

Lieberman
Clark

Lieberman because he won't have won any delegates and Clark because he will narrowly lose OK. Edwards will win SC I think, so he stays in. And so does Dean, although I'm still not sure I understand why.

1. No chance
of Clark dropping out this early regardless of the outcome.
Lieberman will drop out. No one else.

8. I've been involved here in Texas
since the end of July. We are so ready, but unfortunately our primary isn't until March 9. When is Illinois? My inlaws are in Chicago.

17. And then what did you dream?
Dean is raising money daily at an amazing clip. Approx. 5500 people (total) turned out to see him in Tuscon and Seattle today. We've got a terrific new Campaign Manger who also "gets it" about the campaign and Dean, and who has come up with a terrific game plan.

We're also getting MORE endorsements.

Dean is in until:

1. He doesn't have any more money and isn't getting any more OR

2. Someone gets all the delegates necessary to win, and even then he may continue on.

3. He wins the nomination.

Do NOT count the Deanster out. He is one hell of a fighter.

5. are you kidding?
There's no way Clark is dropping out. He's in for the long haul. We've been working hard here in Wisconsin, he just rolled out his third ad, two more offices are opening up in other cities (or three, I'm not sure)... and I will be absolutely thrilled to go and vote for Wesley Clark on February 17th!

10. Exactly.
I think they're forgetting about Clark's $$ and the fact that he's been waging a national campaign.
Edwards isn't going to lose SC, either.

6. Clark future rides on Oklahoma
If Kerry were to come back and beat Clark in Oklahoma, I would think there is no realistic scenario for him to win the nomination. Edwards has already said he must win South Carolina. If he gets beat in SC, Edwards will get out and support John Kerry. Dean has through early March to turn around the momentum - unless - Kerry wins February 3rd AND 7th big.

19. That will not happen
Edwards is not a factor in OK, although he may well win in SC.

9. Please let it be Lieberman.

Dean's already said he's in it to the end, and I think Clark wants to try out more of the Southern states. I agree that if Edwards loses SC, he's out.

11. Lieberman is the only one I think
Clark still has a long way to go. It's too early for him to drop out plus I think he could do well Tues. We know about Edwards and his predicition and Dean will stay.

Bye Joe.

I think both Edwards and Clark will drop out if they don't win some states by February 7th.

18. Okay, fellas, lets go over this again.
Dean and Clark are at the heads of two grassroots campaigns with lots of workers and lots of regular folks chipping in money to keep the show on the road.

Even if Kerry "sweeps" the 3rd and the 7th he is not going to get all of the delegates involved. There is a number he has to reach in order to get the nomination and if Clark and Dean (and Edwards)(and Sharpton)stay in the race it is unlikely Kerry will be able to reach that number before the primaries stagger to a close.

If he doesn't, then he has to chance a convention BUT his mythical inevitability will have proven as illusory as Dean's did.

Soooo...why on earth would anyone drop out if the people were still behind them--and the Clark supporters and Dean supporters are clearly in if for the long haul--and the money keeps coming in? What else are they going to do for the next few months? Golf?

If they hang in tough and Kerry doesn't get his magic number, there is always a chance they will be able to cut a deal to the convention to deny Kerry the nod. Once the gavel goes down in Boston the fun will begin in earnest.

So, no matter what the media decrees, and no matter what the DNC asks, I think the only person likely to drop out is Jo-mentum himself, and even that isn't certain.

This is a whole new game, ladies and gentlemen, and the curtain has just gone up.

21. The one and only reason any candidate drops out of the race
is lack of money. As long as a candidate has money, as long as people are willing to support them with their dollars, there is no reason to withdraw from the race.

Dean is too arrogant to realize he shoulld have already dropped out.
