How the Race Could Turn....
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 07:08 PM by deminflorida
Key victories on Tuesday could spell the beginning of a Democratic Horse-Race rather than a Kerry shutout.

If Clark wins in Oklahoma, and Edwards wins South Carolina...that's it....

Kerry will look beatable in the Heartland and South and take on a more Michael Dukakis image. The Democratic party will become alarmed and the media will immediately jump on this issue.

After Tuesday....it will be Dean day...probably...

If Dean is smart he will campaign heavily here:

February 7 Michigan
Washington

Clark could also do well in Washington. Of course, so could Edwards.

February 8 Maine - Kerry or Dean

February 10 Tennessee, Virginia - Clark/Edwards...but with Virginia's military population I say Clark.....and Clark could win Tennessee as well.

If the race isn't sewn up by Super Tuesday or it's still close in the streach Kerry must face:

March 9
Florida
Louisiana
Mississippi
Texas

1. Wait - according to Kerry supporters...
It is time to unify. I mean, two states have voted. We should all accept their decision and forget about our candidates. They don't have a chance anyways! </sarcasm>

4. Dean's gambling...
on Mi and Wa. I don't think it's such a great idea because with poor showings on Tuesday (and it seems as though he will be lucky to be second anywhere on Tues.), voters will be even less likely to vote for Dean in those two states.

I do agree that if Clark or Edwards win Ok, and SC, respectively, then things could change and Kerry wouldn't look unbeatable. Either way it's going to be tough to take him out because he looks like he'll win Mo and atleast three or four other states on Tuesday.
