Bush is gonna' "SAY" we are addicted to oil,...
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 05:18 PM by Just Me
,...while he allows oil companies to write policy? :silly:

I swear, I feel like I've been forced into the "coo coos nest". Amazingfuckingly, there will STILL be Americans who will believe this man and his bullshit. I'm sorry,...they must be messed up in the head,...THEY MUST BE!!!

Whew! :spray: Now, I know I've chosen properly (for myself, that is) in deciding to read here rather than engage in self destructive actions by watching this psycho. :spank:

5. Don't worry Bush, $2.40 per gal sure has cut down our home heating oil
"addiction" (as well as many other working poor and fixed income folks up here). :sarcasm: :grr:

We just bought a new "old" house in very NNY and are using only 150 or so gals a month. It's not that low because it's been warm (although it mostly has thankfully been "warmer" then usual) the house is small (it's 1700+sq ft) or well insulated (what insulation?) ... it's that low because like many others in the north country of the US, and being rather silly creatures, we have this thing about being able to feed ourselves (and our furkids). (I'd like to see BushCo, his oil cronies, the Repubs in office and their families live with the temp in their homes at 55 to 60 all winter.)

We've already made up our minds we're not going to have to do this again next Winter. Once we get through this winter we have a do-able plan to get ready for next Winter. We can sell off a bunch of our family estate items and put that into "Winterizing" the house. With a bit of luck, sacrifice and slow but steady work hopefully we'll be able to use less oil/wood (we have a dual furnace) and maybe even get to be warmer (and have my DH hurt less). B-) (Of course our dream is to go off the grid totally and use solar and geo-thermal... but at our age and being disabled that's not likely to be do-able without a major miracle.)

4. The dems should have been louder about this
People at work today didn't even know that Bush's energy policies are from the oil/energy companies.

11. Doublespeak - Bush is addicted to oil!
Bush to Announce Addiction to Oil
January 31st, 2006 @ 6:00 pm

Clearly Bush is acting for intervention here, as he will announce tonight in the SOTU that he’s ‘Addicted to oil’.

We’ve all had enough of the doublespeak by now to know that when he’s saying during the SOTU that ‘“America is addicted to oil” and must break its dependence on foreign suppliers in unstable parts of the world,’ he’s really talking about his own addiction to oil, power, and those foreign friends in “unstable parts of the world.”
